Thread: Carbineer vs Riflemen
I duno why but Im attracted towards to Carbine as compared to the riflemen. Sorry gota make it quick, going to work wont be back till 10, but whats the Carbine have...that the rifle doesnt? Obviously rifle does more damage, so why be a carbineer? what are the advantages? Thank you
A more workable ideal range (mid-range is easier to work your way into in more situations than long), a compromise of speed and per-shot damage, several ranged Area of Effect attacks (assuming they get fixed), and an array of potential debuff effects on several of the attacks (again, assuming they're increased in their handicapping potential, from what I hear they're kind of negligable atm) are the advantages of carbine.
In addition, it doesn't suffer some of the rifle's disadvantages, such as steep penalties for shooting on the run/standing andtriple damage from melee attackers. Rifle instead gets to shoot very powerful shots at a typically weak pool from a range at which they are safe but require set-up to achieve.
They both end up (or will, when carbine gets broken moves fixed and pistol gets ranged accuracy looked at) fitting nicely into a style of play that is unique but similarly useful in their own situations. I look forward to playing crowd control/support roles in PvP, and hope that I find carbineer fulfilling in that sense.
