Will the HAM costs of existing carbines be lowered when the fix happens? Or just new ones? Just wondering if I should hold off in buying a new weapon till after the patch.

There will be only one carbine (well, two, strictly) that will be affected -- the DH17 and it's brother the DH17 snubnose. These are the only two that are affected, because they're the only two that require stocks (and will not once the patch goes through). So feel free to buy CDEFs, E-11s, EE3s, Lasers, DXR6s, and Elites -- they won't be changing a bit. However, you might find that an experimentedscope or stock might be good optional components to request, but I'm a bit skeptical, myself. I figure that if it takes all the experimentation points to get HAMs down near zero, there's not anything left to give it boosts you care about. But I might be wrong.

However, if you buy your stuff custom-ordered from a master, I'd still wait, cause he's due to get1 more experimentation point out of the patch, too. This won't be retroactive, however, and will only affect masters, and they'll probably try to sell out their stock before offering new ones with more experimentation.
