(formerly) A soldier armed with a carbine.


also, Carabineer, Carabinier."



This is taken straight from Random House / Webster's Unabridged dictionary, 2001 edition. Note there are alternate spellings. Both Carabineer and Carabinier are legitimate ways to spell the name of this profession.



I do wish they'd be consistant, though
