I just wanted to say, as someone who's about to take up this little regarded profession, that "Carabineer" is spelled correctly, you knuckleheads. Look it up in your family Webster's if you don't believe me.

1. This is at least the 20th post regarding this.

2.The information in your posthas already been statedat least10 times already.

3. If you had read some (if not all) of the other posts, you would have realized that the main complaint is about consistency of the title usage, not the actually spelling.

4. "Carbinier" is the one that is misspelled, not "carabineer". The correct spelling is Carabinier.

I made the mistaken assumption because our correspondent is spelling carabineer "Carbineer". I assumed incorrectly, my apologies.

As far as "carbineer" goes, most of the board agreed that this is the name we can agree on. This was in a older post and is supported by our correspondent.

I think the devs have decided on our name, guys. Anyone notice the change in the forum title?

Frankly, I hated Carabineer. It sounds like you're a Jamaican. I'm cool with the spelling, I apologized for jumping the...carbine...there. Good to go.

I believe Carabineer is french. The forum title has been changed to Carbineer, the most favorite spelling.

I like "Carbineer" myself .. it sounds more gramatically correct then "Carabineer", even if Websters disagrees

Carabineer always seemed to me like we should be rapelling off the sides of cliffs; a "caribeaner" is a D shaped locking hook used in rapelling and other rock-climbing activities

If it's french, that would help explain my initial dislike so much

when i read carabineer for some reason i pronounce it in my mind carabeener lol, which if i'm not mistaken is a guy who makes sure the rope doesn't have slack in it when your rock/mountain climbing. When i see it carbineer it makes more sense i guess.

Well, if we go aroundchanging allEnglish words originating in the French, we'll be reduced to grunting after a while. I'm kidding. I'm a kidder.

Carabineer sounds like our favored weapon is pseudo-chocolate.
