Ok carbineers here's the issue. I wanted to be a commando when I got this game. It's the profession I decided on out of the box. As you all know Commando's are gimped. I then wanted to be a BH because it built off the marksman and scout tree and I like the scout tree. I then decided that I wanted to be a carbineer because I fell in love with that weapon.

I had decided to be a carbineer and thought my choice was clear and was happy right. . . wrong.

I just came from the Commando boards. Holo has finally listened and has a total revamp of that class planned. There is a post he made just a few minutes ago literally detailing changes to every weapon and he has addressed EVERY SINGLE ONE of the Commando's concerns.

I'm torn Carbineers. I've fallen in love with the carbine but the class I wanted to originally play is finally getting fixed. Please help me decide some loyalties. Playing as one on another server is out of the question since my play time is SOOOO limited and I already have plans for a second character.

Should I go full carbineer and dabble in commando or dabble in carbineer and go full commando.

Some background. I have master marksman and unarmed II (see told you about commando). I am about 20K from novice carbineer AND LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF FIRING THAT WEAPON.

My suggestion would be to wait for the patch that implements the commando changes to live. Keep leveling up your carbine skills (if nothing else you'll get yummy combat exp) and then wait and see what happens.

Based on the post Holo made in the commando forum, I'd say your best bet would be to primarily be a carbineer and dabble as a commando, focusing on the heavy weapons and flamethrower lines. This would give you long range (rocket launcher, beam cannon) and short range (flamethrower, launcher pistol) capabilities to compliment your medium range specialist profession (carbine). And the defenses in carbineer, while less than most elite marksman professions, are still more than commandos get.

I would just save your comabt xp and move up the other 3 carbine lines until the fixes go live, then wait a week, see what the buzz is on the commando boards, make sure there isnt a nerf-back, and spend that combat xp on commando if they become effective.
