Thread: Any Idea if the HAM cost issue will be looked at.
Greets ...
Fixes are in the test center being tested as we speak.
They said things would be tested for 1-2 weeks .. so we might get them in 7 days we might get them ... hmm .. 21+ days?

So how much of an improvement is it? I was going to go Carbine until I noticed the horrbible HAM hits I was getting so I started thinking pistol. Just curiouse if it's worth my while to stick it out for the next couple of weeks or say screw it and go for pistioleer.
How much of an improvement is what? I'm gonna take a stab and guess you mean the stock fix. Well, DH17s will automatically be able toget about25-30 points of HAM knocked off each pool. So you'd be looking at HAMs in the mid-to-high 20s, I think. Other guns, while not having a required stock holding them back, tend to have high HAMs as well, but as I'm not a smith on test center, I can't attest to whether they've fixed HAM experimentation, nor how effective the fix is.
unless the devs have failed to share some info with us, this "fix" wont do jack to your ee3's, lasers, e11's, etc..
its going to be very entertaining when this update goes live and people come back on here screaming about how the fix didnt fix the guns until they realize thats what weve been saying all along. The fix addresses 1 gun, it doesnt even come close to addressing carbine weapons as a whole.
personally, I feel bad for SOJ. They put int the correspondant system to improve communication, but in reality, all it enables them to focus on and ignore 1 person instead of a entire board.
"congratulations.....you been chosen to be the person we ignore from your profession"
But the patch notes for Weaponsmith say weapons *can* be potentially experimented to0...
If that were true, that would affect ALL weapons across the board.
That's what people are looking at to fix this issue.

Read again. It says optional components (stocks and scopes) can be potentially experimented down to zero. This is to address the current state where they can't possibly provide enough benefit to warrant the 20-30 point HAM costs they carry, so nobody in their right mind would want one if the schematic didn't require it.
Now, they're supposed to be taking a look at HAM experimentation on the final combine, too, but I don't have huge hopes for it. So that leaves us with a fix to one of the carbines (DH17, since the currently required stock will become optional and potentially experimentable to zero if you do include it), and several rifles (which also require stocks, but are supposed to). The only affect this change might have on non-DH17 carbines is you may see more crafters opting for experimented stocks to squeeze an extra few damage out of a gun at the expense of (pulling a number out of thin air) 5/5/5 additional HAM. Ditto for scopes, but with ideal range modifier and wound chance instead of damage/speed.
Thanks for the correction, your explanation looks spot on. I guess I only read what I wanted to on the dev notes...hoping for the best.
Yep, this is going to cause quite the up roar when people onlyunderstandthis when the patch comes out.

preach on man. you should see how fast i take my own ass out with an EE3 and a +speed powerup ![]()

No kidding. I've come to the conclusion that speed powerups (and slicing) are no-nos for carbines. Give me something to squeeze more damage out per shot or less HAM per shot, those will help me get more damage per HAM expended. I have no interest in having an opportunity to spend my HAM more often.
