Carbineer Archive

Well, so far we have been given three choices, which though generous, are a bit annoying. Just what are we supposed to be called anyways? Here's what we got -

1. Carbineer. Simple, elegant, to-the-point, dare I say....obvious choice? This is what most of us already call ourselves, due to its given spelling in most of the documentation and skill trees. My personal favorite.

2. Carabineer. While this name is technically correct in its definition, as a "wielder of a deadly ranged weapon," I do not want to be confused with a "wielder of a deadly-when-used-incorrectly-while-scaling-mountains climbing tool." This is the title we are given on these forums, though I don't know what prompted the switch.

3. Carbinier. Ugh. Call me nitpicky, but I almost dropped carbines right there when I found out I would have to have this silly misspell hovering over my head! Imagine how angry other professions would be in our situation. For example, if you worked hard and mastered two whole professions just so you could begin training for the third, how happy would you be if, as a reward, you got to call yourself a Novice Bounty Huntier??? Doctior, anyone?

Devs, please pick one of these (as long as its not #3) and stick with it, so us 'carbine users' can have some sense of identity. Thank you. And for those of you who would complain that there are far more important issues to fix than some spelling errors, I say that fixing the spelling would take less time than it took you to read my post! Also, I doubt it would need to be run on the Test Center for three weeks to ensure its stability.

I have this noted and will bring it up to them. I'm pretty sure Carbineer is what it's suppose to be. After all, that's what the skill is called in the tree. I don't know where they came up with 3 different ones.

I would just like to correct myself on this post. Apparently, carbinier is a valid spelling. I still think it is the worst choice of the three. Sorry for the misinformation.
