Thread: Ultimate Carbineer/BH Build
Ok get master marksman, master scout, master carbineer, novice bounty hunter, bh carbine specialization IV, and investigation III.
Here are the stat points
Carbine Accuracy=165
Carbine Speed=120
Carbine Accuracy while Moving=30
General/Carbine Aiming=16
Counterattack=20
Defense vs. Knockdown=15
Defense vs. Intimidate=15
Plus other bonuses.
This is the build I am going for, let me know what you guys think.
unles they fix carbine's this will be a waste of your time as a novice pistoleer will probably outdamage you and take less damage from stat drain in the process. i feel your pain though, this is also the same route i wanted to take until i saw the harsh reality of carbine ham drain myself.

I wanted to do that skill, but i needed meidical abilities to become more independant.
I prefer that build for combat, but to be independant i needed medic skills.
You're saying a novice pistoleer would own you? You gotta be kidding me, unless that pistoleer has melee defense 1 and moves in close to knock you down you will tear him up with underhand shot. Just my two cents.
Underhand Shot is very good, yes, but Fire Knockdown is much better. I have never actually seen it used against anyone, or me, but it's basically a knockdown with Dizzy on it which can make the target completely immobile for 30 seconds or so.
I'm currently using underhand shot a whole lot and enjoying it as I am pretty close to fire knockdown. I can't wait to use fire knockdown and see how well it really does. I do have a feeling that Fire Knockdown will be overpowered in many ways. I remember in beta when I first read the skill Fire Knockdown, I immediately stated that I thought the move would be too cheap. The answer I got was that "BH's need skills like that to complete their missions". "It's a BH's job to make their target immobile".
Also, even without the BH skills, carbineer's already have ranged knockdown. It appears that the carbineer excells in ranged knockdowns. The Pistol has a melee knockdown, for it is a melee-associated weapon. The pistol was never meant to stand at 64m and spam body shot. I can't speak for the rifle, but they seem to be fine with their high powered shots. Carbineer's are an excellent class, if you can get past the 40 action HAM cost for the E11s.
Bounty Hunters truly are the Elite Combat class. The skills that they get for the Pistol and Carbine are like none other.
I think the general thing going around here is that you HAVE to be a Bounty Hunter if you want to be the best at your weapon class, even better than a Master Specialist. If you look, you will see that the Bounty Hunter has better bonuses (other than defense and while moving, just speed and accuracy) and better skills. I'd take Torso Shot and Eye Shot over any other Pistoleer skill and Fire Knockdown and Underhand Shot are very, very nice. Therefore, everyone assumes that people are going to be a BH. Afterall, It is probably one of the most wanted classes in the game as well as one of the most powerful.
I think that just mastering carbineer will be fine. You'll have knockdown and skills such as burst shot. BH is just a very important extension for people (such as PVPers) to gain the most out of their weapon.. which happens to have very nice skills. It also happens to be the class that everyone and their family wants to be. I just wish that they made this class a little tougher to achieve since it's skills and bonuses are just amazing.

Bounty Hunters already have the highest prerequiste costs associated with any class. You must master two full professions before you can gain novice Bounty Hunter. Could they stand to make it a tad bit harder? Sure. And I would still grind there for the carbine skills alone. But it is already there hardest there is. Please don't ask for more.
