Just got into carbineer and I've qualified for the next set of boxes. Question is, which one?

I read Lagrimas' post about the new abilities, but still am not clear on the descriptions. Should I take the skill that raises accuracy and gives legshot 3 (is this special bugged or not? i read from said post it only lowers HAM costs and does not improve damage from legshot 2, correct?) or should I raise the skill that gives me a bonus to weapon speed and gives scatter shot 1 (which I read, has the ability to hit all three HAM bars, in a random way?).

Any help is appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing, from what I hear leg shot 3 is leg shot 2 with a slightly different name.

This leaves speed and scatter shot or counterattack (usless from what I hear) and burst shot. I dont know what to take but I think I'll switch to a CDEF carbine and use action shots 1 and 2 almost all the time to level so I'll prolly go for speed. Atm I can take hard mobs and not get touched but walk away with little to no action bar and 1/4 left from my health bar all because of the cost of specials. I have been forced to take medic skills to try and reduce my down time but after 3 or 4 hard mobs after never getting hit all my pools have very little left

Anyone wanna see if I can take a kimo with a CDEF ?

im in the same position, ill prolly make my first box by tomorow, and i think im going for speed. If you get your speed maxxed out you can bust out a super high damage slow carbine and still make decent speeds but at super power. Also i think scatter shot would be more effective in a group situation when you have people of carrying weapon types. Thats the problem we have had in taking down krayts is some people target the health pool, some target action, and some do mind damage, so it takes longer

Yeah, LS3 is worse than LS2. I did some testing on these 2 skills last night and noticed that I did consistantly more damage with LS2. But from what I've read in Strategy Guides, LS3 is supposed to be a cone attack (multiple mobs), but it isn't. So that makes sense that it would do less damage, but you could do more damage to multiple mobs.

I myself took this skill anyways so I could get to Crippling Shot. Most people here will tell you that BurstShot 1 and 2 is the best.

well, i like legshot2 and i just got burstshot. Leg is good when u got them bleeding from the action shot., but of course terrible action costs.

It really depends on your playstle. If you spend most of your time soloing I would go with Burst Shot 1. It will allow you to one shot kill a lot of creatures and when combined with warning shot/threaten shot or action shot it works very well for soloing bigger creatures. If you group more I would pick up Scatter Shot 1. You will gain much more xp group kill with it.

The speed bonus is not signifigant even if you climb the entire tree. If you finish carbine assault tactics you only gain +20 speed for an increase of about .2 speed, taking your 4.0 speed carbine down to 3.8. Not worth the investment in skill points alone. Counterattack though seems to be even less useful.

In the end you want to have both scatter shot and burst shot. I like to use burst shot to punch a large hole in one of my opponents ham bars then try to exploit that weakness with scatter shot.

scatter shot seems to be alright, it will work well with full auto since it hits mulitple pools at once, but now im thinking i will go with burst shot next time
