Thread: How exactly will the patch affect carbines?
They are removing the stock requirement from both DH17s. This means a reduction in HAMs to the high 20s and low 30s, at the cost of a few points of damage. This could mean that (barring AR barriers) the DH17 can become a contender due to its lenient material requirements yielding higher average quality, similar to the infamous Scout Blaster.
They're also making optional components experimentable down to 0 HAM -- meaning that you may see some stocked and scoped carbines, granting higher damage/slightly slower speed and wound chance/ideal to-hit bonus respectively.
I've seen no indication that the HAM multipliers inherent to carbineer moves will be looked at, so we'll still be burning HAM at a pretty good clip -- basically the same as we've been doing on anything higher than a DH17.
Also, move fixes likely will not be included, as the whole correspondent thing came up after they introduced this patch to TC. However, after this patch goes live, we can cross our fingers and hope they hear the hollering for the next patch.
