If a mob dies from bleeding damage, you can still get full xp for the kill. (Generally, you can recognize a mob dying from bleeding damage by two things: one, the blood drop icon appears at the same time you get the xp messages; or two, the mob stays standing, alive but at 0 action, for a moment after you get the xp messages.)

As for killing something with only action shot's bleeding damage (and no normal damage like leg shot), I have no idea, as I never tried before (not even on a paralope). However, I'd point out that a long time ago, EQ had a longstanding issue where mobs killed entirely by DoT damage would poof due to having no attribution info for the damage. (The same would happen for mobs whose hate lists were cleared when the mob was under 10% health, but I think that was at one time intentional.)

In any case, you get attacks for free if you don't use special actions, so you might as well leave attack turned on while kiting a bleeding mob.
