Excellent, now I won't have to bug it like I was planning to do.

Hmm . . . I was going to point out problems with this . . . but none come to mind.

How about the fact that carbine is not a viable weapon choice until this is fixed, or that bounty hunters are forced to use either CDEFs or bugged weapons in order to learn 1 of their skill trees? This should be pushed ASAP, instead of in "a couple weeks" after all the would-be carbineers and bounty hunters have quit in disgust.

Agreed. In a couple weeks, you'll have a couple thousand more Bounty Hunters who have worked themselves to the bone in the slow grind with CDEF or EE3 Carbines -- the only viable choices -- angrily pounding on their keyboard when they realize that there is simply no feasible way to grind through their respective trees with such low damage weaponry.

I urge you to push this fix to a higher priority. Though, considering the very hideous experimentation "accidents" that happened in late beta, I can easily understand why it may take a few weeks. At the very least, please post a hotfix removing the stock component of the DH17 Carbine models sooner, while leaving the new H/A/M modifers to be tested for a longer duration on TC.

On the CDEF you can spam specials, if you do that with an EE3, you're dead meat. I'm using one of Ace's EE3's right now, and while its a fine weapon and the specials are nice, I can use them maybe three or four times a fight and then I need a minute between battles. Mind you, this is if the critter aggros on a group-mate and never touches me. If I'm getting hit, I can't touch the specials. Thanks to Ace, I'm willing to bet I have the most viable carbine onLowca (besides the others in that batch), and I can still see the the BH carbine skill is going to be real slow going compared to pistol.

I'm glad the issue is being addressed, but I concur that a hotfix should remove the stock requirement until the HAM mods can be fully tested and implemented. I can think of no downside to doing this, and a lot of players will be thrilled to use their shelved carbines again. Furthermore, you'll open up a whole new market for weaponsmiths. Nobody loses.

Actually spice and slicing was tested in beta. I was a master weaponsmith/ intermediate smuggler.

I gave plenty feedback, just in private.

FYI EE3's do not use rifle stock so this wouldn't affect them at all nor do laser carbines. Both optional.

Holo - how about a hot-fix to the servers of just making the stocks optional? that would permit us to make guns for the poor carbiners and wouldn't disrupt anything.

The balance changes to stocks can wait, a long time. Noone will be making stocks until probably near master weaponsmith.

They both have horrid move costs even without the stock, and since efficiency experimentation has barely any effect, putting all six points into it will still leave the costs much too high. Laser carbine is 29/47/23, barely better than the bugged DH17s.

Once the DH17s are fixed, they will be massively superior to the other carbines, just like how the scout blaster is better than almost all the other pistols.

Greets ...

Thank you ... Thank you ... Thank you ...

Can we skip the TC? or get that faster considering that really "gates" the carbineer? I have basically had to stop in my choosen profession and do other things due to this.

Any speed up on this one would be appreciated ... but thank you for getting it fixed.

Hey "Hero", I was wondering when I'd "see" your face around here...
How are your "Player Associations" doing? ...

Speaking about the carbine issue, I agree with most people in this thread- this issue seems like it should bypass the usual Test Center hoo-hah, or if it is, at least made top priority. I imagine the developers have a reason for not giving it to us right off the bat, however.

Thanks for the laugh Logix. Slow grind with an EE3. Rofl hehehheheh. Compairing a CDEF to a EE3. Come on you can't compair a Novice Artisan item to a MASTER firearms item and say they the same. I'd love to see "Damage Radius: 3.0" on a CDEF!

Because of the pooreffort that went into the balance of the Weaponsmith profession .. yes, you can.

I'm not saying they're the same, but the EE3 is hardly an upgrade in its current state. 44-106 4.5 with Special Move costs mixed in the low thirties? Slower than a pistol, lower damage than a pistol, but hurts you more with Special Moves. Now, tell me again, does this sound like a Master Firearms carbine?

Vol,

it was both, the stock and the experiment that was screwy. It will be nice to finally see people not using cdefs or DH17 and finally using something well of their skill. I told an online friend that the devs were fixing the the carbines and he said well i think that they are ok. I asked him what weapon he was using and it was a cdef, mind he his part BH, carabineer. Still using a cdef and he said the carbines were ok.

Will this fix only affect post update made carbines, or will it change the ham cost on already made carbines?
