Thread: Fellow Carbineers: Do we have any balancing issues that need addressing?
Here is theTRUE problems with Carbines, and a SOLUTION:
1) Reduce the HAM of the cabines at all levels. (See math below)
2) Reduce the HAM multiplier. (See math below)
The action bar is the most used bar in the ranged combat. It has the largest cost asscooiated it, for examplean averageCDEF carbineis 13/21/13 for its HAM, this is basically the same for all of the CDEF pistols and rifles, there are all in the same proportion. When you add in the multiplier for special attacks the cost to your action bar has a greater affect on your overall pool points. You are essentially taking more damage overall by using a special, as to be expected, but since our multiplier is larger on the action cost becasue of the nature of the carbine attack we run into a problem that creates an unbalance in the 3 classes of ranged weaponry.

Basically, the multiplier for a carbine is on the action pool which is the same pool that has the lagest HAM cost associated with it (ex. 13/21/13 for a CDEF carbine). This means that someone with a carbine will have more damage done to them than a someone with a pistol or a rifle who have multilpiers on different pools. This reduces the abilities of the person with a carbine to do a special due to its higher cost than the other 2 ranged weapons.
There are 2 options:
1) Reduce the action cost of carbines.
2) Reduce the multiplier on the Action pool.
I would thinkeither one woulddo.
Have any of been to the pistoleer forums, even they say that is not fair and that pistols are too uber.

After reading the Rifleman class, they get more bonuses per skill level and per experience, they are getting Rifle speed +10 while carbineer are getting only +5 over time its going to be broken. If a Carbineer can be both a Bounty Hunter and Carbineer it might be more fair, but i believe that there wont be enough points.
In the BH tree carbines even get knockdown + dizzy which is a certain kill in pvp. Players cant do anything for like 30 seconds while you can shoot them, dance around, heal a bit, then deathblow them.
But i agree special move costs on carbines are too high currently but holocron already wrote they fixed it on test center.

asilidae, holo said they were going to fix stocks and give some bigger bonuses to scopes.
he didnt say anything about fixing carbine special costsas a whole, and thats the whole problem. we need some clarification and for some reason or another, holo wont give us any answers.
