Thanks a lot Holo. This brings new hope to all carbineers.

Soon we won't be needing our CDEF's, guys.

Â

i would like to know what is gonna happen to the DH-17's that were made with a stock and hence have horrible HAM costs? am i out the 9k i spent on mine or will the patch take the stocks off of these weapons?

There he goes.. one of God's own prototypes.

Wow, I too wasn't expecting this to get fixed so soon. I didn't even think they really knew about it.

If I remember correctly from beta, what is currently ingame right now will remain broke. You will have to buy a new one after the fix has been applied.

Let's just hope it's sooner than later.

There is still a major problem even when experimenting on ham costs on weapons that have no extra added pieces like stocks or scopes. Today screwing around with a friend in my shop I tried using all 5 points i have only on ham costs on an e 11 carbine and rifle. I made several of both and to my dismay with 5 points into effectiveness i was only able to lower the hams by 4 each max. From 31/39/18 on the carines i was able to get it to 27/35/17 with 5 points. In my opinion this should be the result of one great success not 5...

If read this holo, you know smuggling and slicing was never tested in beta because of the requirements that used to be. How nice is it for a weaponsmith to spend tons of time finding the best materials, experiimenting on pieces, expirimenting on final combinations only for someone with an inferior product to have it sliced and blow yours away. When a gun is sliced there are nothing on that gun that says so, or no ill effects from it. Raising a guns speed or damage 25 percent when that would take a smith huge amounts of time to imporve his results is wrong in my opinion. There are alot of bugs, exploits and problems in the game. We know in time that these will be addressed but by that time it will be too late.

I was really hoping to see the rifle stock requirement removed from DH17's say, Friday morning. It would be a minimal change that certainly wouldn't introduce any bugs, and would help carbineers and marksmen who specialize in carbine tremendously. The rest of the changes can wait, but by the time a couple of weeks have passed, most carbine users will probably have progressed past the DH17 anyway.

(Addendum to previous post)

I don't want to sound ungrateful, though, because I'm glad the Carbine is getting the love it needs. Thanks much, Holocron!

I just realized something really weird about this.

Here's what happened:

  1. I thought my carbines sucked (so did everyone else)

  2. I asked Mortis, master weaponsmith, to make the lowest special carbine imaginable.

  3. He could not, he said the stockswere to blame.

  4. I reported this back to the devs, with not only threads but PMs and /bugs as well.

  5. Holocron announces stocks will be changed.

But as the weaponsmiths will quickly tell you, its not just stocks that are the problem:

Weaponsmith experimentation of specials cost is the big problem.

Holocron's fix will only fix DH17s I believe... but any weaponsmith will tell you that spending all of their experimentation points on an E11's specials (which doesn't have a stock), makes almost zero effect on special costs.

I guess this is all my fault for reporting this bug too specifially... or Mortis' for telling me it was the Stock instead of telling me that specials experimentation was screwy.

Hmm...

Well our Correspondent will make sure we get it all right in the end...
