/actionshot is the best shot in the game for hunting large mobs by your self. The reason I choose carbine is because of /actionshot2.

If your HAM is sliding too fast try to use a modified CDEF for two shots then switch toa laser carbine for one or two shots repeat.

I've used chitin and ubese with a (laser)carbine. Armour for carbineers are useless unless you have a medic healing you every 4 to 5 shots. I just use resist clothing now, or skill enchanced clothing (for my other profession - combat medic). I don't really see any differences between resist clothing, skill enchanced clothing and regular clothes. (I guess I get false sense of security with them on.)

yes, you can spam actionshot2. As the others here mentioned, get a decent speed CDEF carbine. Use your laser or EE3/E11 to get some good bleeders going (cycle targets), and then switch to the CDEF to keep the critters down while they die. The other day I pissed off some gurrcats for some reason, so I ran and started shooting actionshot2s w/ my laser. A few seconds later they all dropped dead. Same with a herd of rogue bagerasets that was attacking some poor artisan outside of Coronet. I just started pounding them w/ actionshot2 and saved the guy.

BTW, does anyone bother to wear armor? I have a set of composite, but I find that I'm a lot better off just wearing regular clothes.

It would be nice if it gave bleed to all of the mobs that it hit. As of now, it only bleeds one mob and most of the time its not the mob you have targeted.

Thats not true. it is for NPC's but not PC's

next time you see that CH with a rancor, do what I do target rancor AS2, target player AS1, target rancor and run like hell. if the racor gets close AS1 it . . . the handler will be incaped soon enugh and ready for a DB to get rid of that pesky pet.

Remember to use action shot 1 & 2 in conjunction because the bleeding effects stack, and then throw in a few leg shots on the huge mobs. When they start to come after you again throw a actionshot 1 at them due to the low HAM cost to drop the MOB to their knees. Since starsiders is all screwed up i'm stuck with an EE3 and useually have a total bleeding effect of about -700 action against MOBs then hit for about -200 actionwith legshot 2.

Umbrae, just curious, why not AS2 the CH player too? I guess I dont understand why u are using AS1 when AS2 is more powerful...

Also, when Jerik said the bleed effectsof AS1 and AS2 stack, does that mean they bleed faster ???

Because PC's take the full effect of AS2 in the AE effect unlike NPC's that only get the posture change. the AE effect will posture change AND bleed all PC's in the area of effect. by targeting the rancor, you knock down and bleed both the owner and the pet, as opposed to just 1 and then shooting again for the other.

Hmm, ok I guess I dont really understand the differance between AS1 and AS2, if anyone could take the time to point out the differences I would really appreciate it.

Also, what does AE stand for ?

AE = Area Effect meaning it will damage targets in an area (Just think of D&D fireball)

Stacking means that both actionshot1 and actionshot2 will bleed a target. Normally, if you shoot action1 more than once you can't affect a creature after the first shot because it already has a bleed effect.
