Thread: How effective is Counterattack?
As long as SOJ is familiar enough with carbineer to properly relay our concerns (he would be included in that if he was a carbineer himself, of course
), then he can fulfill his job as a correspondant. So far, I would say he's done a good job; and I haven't really disagreed with anything he's sent to the devs. So, keep up the good work SOJ.
As far as counter-attack, I've been counterattacked by mobs that only have melee while I'm far out of range. This would make the move essentially just a dodge that rarely goes off. For the carbineer, I have yet to notice a counter-attack message from myself, but a regular attack+dodge does seem to have advantages over dodge alone, but its rarity prevents it from being useful.
What I'd like to see is counter-attack exactly mirroring the attack that would have landed on you. So if you would have taken a 982 damage mind-shot bleed, and you counter-attack it, the person that would have hit you with that (even if you wern't engaged with them at the moment, so it's able to switch targets) gets the mega bleed instead. That would justify its rarity, in my opinion ![]()
