Thread: Carbine fix
Stocks are no longer required on the DH17 stuff.
We also changed the HAM cost modifiers on stocks and scopes so that they can potentially be experimented all the way down to zero.We also gave them a little large boost on their benefits.
I'll post this in the weaponsmith forum as well.
This won't make it out to you until the update though, so it may be a couple of weeks since it goes thru TC first.

The "weeks" part makes me a bit sad. Killing Kimogilas with a CDEF is a bit painful ![]()

Any chance of getting a little cost reduction love on the carbines I've already bought? We've got lots of credits invested in carbines that are killing us--might be nice to run some kind of reduction on the DH17s in the DB.
Maybe an NPC that you can give them to that will alter them for you?
Thank you. The response to this issue was rapid enough to merit me deciding to stay on for at least one paid month of play. AlthoughI haven't beendirectly affected by them, I also appreciate the fast response to the exploits that have turned up in the first couple weeks.
I hope the 'couple of weeks' is a conservative estimate and we see the carbine become viable on non TC servers a bit sooner, but I can see the potential need to tweak the changes to stocks and scopes for balance reasons.
Any chance of just the non-mandatory stock part coming to standard servers a bit sooner?

Will this fix do anything to improve the HAM cost of weapons that have already been made and purchased? I spent a load on a DH17 just last night that is killing me.

Actually, I too, like this idea. I'm also glad it's running through TC first. I'll be there to check out. Hmm . . . I was going to point out problems with this . . . but none come to mind. Plenty of good sides though, including the need for crafters to mass produce something that will actually get bought in bulk! (You have no idea howquickly my CURRENT weapon mods are selling!)

How about the fact that carbine is not a viable weapon choice until this is fixed, or that bounty hunters are forced to use either CDEFs or bugged weapons in order to learn 1 of their skill trees? This should be pushed ASAP, instead of in "a couple weeks" after all the would-be carbineers and bounty hunters have quit in disgust.
