Thread: Why do you people dislike action2?
I played a carbineer in beta and i play one now. i love how actionshot 2 has an area effect. it falls inline with the rest of our shots that shoulds have a cone effect(charge2,etc). carbineers are the all around group friendly gunners.
action with its area is one of the best things we have going for us right now. btw i am 2 boxes away from master(which has no new shots like the others lol).also was a master carbineer in beta.

I love actionshot2. It's saved my and my group's bacon many times.
It is just a little dangerous to use sometimes due to the aoe nature. If your group is already being wailed on by a bunch of mobs, actionshot2 may be the way to go. Else, if used indescriminately it can bring in more mobs than your group is prepared to handle.
i like the AE of Action II
i don't like that it has the posture change ofsurpressionII, making it incredibly overpowered
i don't like that it doesn't bleed anything but your target but deals damage as Full Auto Area should.
/surrpression II;/actionshot II;/fullautoareaII should be what we currently only have to spam 1 special for, maybe changing the target during the fight to get exp on the main target that only got bleeds yet.
You can spam actionshot2? lol you'll incap yourself with the ham cost

Yeah, it most certainly is the best thing we have now. It in fact is way better than the best thing we should have, it's incredibly overpowered for exping. And also it most likely isnt supposed to be AE in the first place.
You can make better exp with this than you could multi kiting those bugged slow mobs, jaxes, langlatches, whatever else there was, and that was nerfed already.
You can spam shoot it all day if you want with a CDEF, you can regen more action back before the actionshot2 "root" effect breaks than you spend for a shot, easily. So you can continue doing it forever. Most of my exp came from actionshot2 ever since I figured out what it does, cause basically.. you can kill up to whatever amount of up to red con mobs that dont have a ranged attack with this, at the same time.
There was someone who actually posted a screenshot of it too, he wasAEing something like 20-30 jaxes at the same time. Those were of course somewhat easier to "herd" to get them all in the AE range since they were so slow. But from personal experience it's not too hard to do that on fast mobs either, alot of my exp came from desert razorbacks near wayfar since they were the best exp with decently low HAM costs so they didnt take all that long to kill.. And they ran burst run speed.
It's still somewhat risky, yeah, but the exp you get for it more than makes up for it. I'm sure more dedicated people could double or triple the exp gain from that if they really tried. The thing is, adding more mobs to the pack you kill at a time doesnt exactly make it harder long as you can find the mobs, and it doesnt make killing the pack slower either.
And as a note, this is actually EASIER at lower levels when you have less speed mods, due to the mechanics of the game, since killing the mobs takes a bit (CDEF is the only way to go) and you regen your pools back at a good rate during the time, but the mobs dont. Higher speed mods you'll have to spread out when you shoot actionshots a bit more, the lower your speed is the longer you can just spam the thing.
well, i think action shot goes along with most our 2nd type shots. they all seem to have a cone or area effect(the ones that work).
and you can exp nice with this shot but you aren't going to spam shoot it all day. but rifles and pistols are better for pure exp i think. take the rifles mind dots.with a good rifle i have seen 1200-2000 point bleeds.
I jsut think that carbineer is mroe group friendly. we have a wide range of shot type and i would have to see actionshot 2 changed in anyway.
if you worried about it droping people to their knees,don't. most the other classes have better shots for it and alot of classes have even better shots. pistol disarm,rifles mind bleeds that can't be healed, smugglers panicshot to name just a few. anyone of those are better than actionshot for exp or pvp. lol and i am not even going to mention those BH shots.
Just thought I'd share this actionshot2 related anecdote.
The other night a rifleman friend and I were grinding some easy naboo missions for cash. We had just begun firing on one of our lairs when this Teras Kasi novice comes running towards us firing a pistol over his shoulder at a train of 5 shaupaut hunters. My first instinct was to flee, but instead i took a knee targeted the central most shau and spammed actionshot2 with my laser carbine.
The combat log immediately filled with dibilitating shots for 200~600 damage a piece. On the first salvo all 5 shau stopped dead in their tracks. Rifleman bud dropped one shau immediately with a headshot. Second actionshot2 salvo then dropped all 4 remaining shau at once. The Teras Kasi artist didn't know he was clear so he just kept on running. Rifleman friend thought she had lagged out and missed the fight! ![]()

i'm a CM too, so even as the HAM costs hurt, they are nothing for me to worry about as long as i can control the position of everything i fight. I use a Laser Carbine and i need to heal myself like every 5th salve.
the most devastating thing for a carbineer are swarming mobs, like swarming dewbacks, because they do not line up nicely like everything else ![]()
