Using this in PvE nearing the end of beta. I noticed it would hit targets I wasn't aiming at. Example: Keeping a Kimogilla pinned so it can't charge, and one stray shot would hit the other kimo near it, and argo it. Now, I was wondering if the shot still misses its target at random times?

ActionShot1 never does that...

But ActionShot2 was always an area-attack for me in Beta.

I'll be training Novice Carbineer tomorrow morning, so I can report back then on ActionShot2.

Ahh, thats right Vol, I was using action shot 2 in beta for that. Didn't know it was area though. Thanks for that.

Yeah, it was real dangerous... I don't know how many times I accidentally shot the lair by using ActionShot2...

If this is an area affect shot, why does is always go far away from the target? I've had instances where it probably started shooting at least 20m to the right or left of my target, sometimes not even reaching my target (at least it looks that way). It may be area affect, but it is still straying far too wide from its target. With the current setup, you really can't use it when anything is anywhere nearby (I don't even try if I see something else on screen).

I hate it. I thought ActionShot 2 would murder the enemies like i could with action1. But I find myself trying to use it on a target. But it misses him and goes for the other one and when it hits the other one it doesnt even make them bleed. It does actual damage. **edit** is the point of ActionShot2 when if it doesnt hit the selected target it doesnt make them bleed. Id be better of just using regular shot and actually have control over where it goes.

I have not used ActionShot2 since a few hours after I trained Novice Carbineer...

Its just too easy to hit the wrong thing. I use ActionShot1 constantly.

I have found one good use of actionshot2. If you are getting agroed by like 4 things at once and you use it. You have the chance of doing like 400 action damage to each one.

Has anyone noticed action shot does no damage? It says it does in your combat window, but watch the mob. It doesn't hurt him at all. Well besides the insanely overpowered bleed that all classes get (well, overpowered for PvP anyway).

I think this is just more proof volatris is righton the money when he said it's acually doing what supressing fire is supposed to. It makes sense forsupressing firenot to do damage.

Action Shot doesn't do direct damage, it does damage over time (bleed). All the other DOTs for the weapons are like this, except Bleeding Shot for the Bounty Hunter. That does direct damage. The damage is lists in the combat spam is the amount it will bleed from the MOB. Also, it takes the highest damage for the bleed.

If I may put my head on the chopping block so you can kick it around a bit...

I would imagine actionShot2 would be used primarily in battlefield situations, against mobs that swarm,or if you are getting agroed by several mobs at once as stated earlier. But Im sure that has already occured to everyone.

why should it occur to everyone if half of the Carbineer branches are Area Attacks?
