I've added up the stats of what a Master would have in these professions. After reviewing them, I can say Carbineers need more help than I previously thought. You might want to refer the devs to this post or these numbers, SOJ.

Hopefully this post will come out how I want it to look. Here goes...

Carbine Accuracy = 55 Pistoleer Accuracy = 60 Rifleman Accuracy = 52

CarbineSpeed = 35 Pistoleer Speed = 49Rifleman Speed = 65

Carbine MoveAccuracy= 30 Pistoleer MAccuracy= 30 Rifleman MAccuracy = 10

Carbine Aiming = 4 PistoleerAiming = 16 Rifleman Aiming= 30

Carbine RDefense = 5 Pistoleer RDefense = 5 Rifleman RDefense = 13

Carbine MeleeD = 0 Pistoleer MeleeD = 13 Rifleman MeleeD= 20

Carbine Counter = 20 Pistoleer Dodge =30 Rifleman Block = 20 (Crawl Speed=20, Cover=80)

And here are the defense numbers....

Carbine VsStun = 0Pistol VsStun = 20 Rifle VsStun = 10

VsBlind = 0VsBlind =20 VsBlind = 10

VsDizzy = 0 VsDizzy = 20 VsDizzy = 10

VsPosture = 0 VsPosture = 20 VsPosture = 30

VsKnockdown = 15 VsKnockdown = 30VsKnockdown = 0

VsIntimidate = 15 VsIntimidate = 0 VsInimidate = 0

Total Special moves for the classes are (C) 14, (P) 12, (R) 14.

These are the total numbers for the professions from Novice to Master. I didn't count in the numbers that are from the Marksman line because they all add up to the same. I'm pretty certain my numbers are correct here, but if someone wants to double check be my guest.

Compared to the other professions we need some melee defense, defenses vs status effects and we severely need a speed boost.

If this doesn't convince people that we need some loving, I don't know what will.

Excellent job!

Upon looking at this again....

This is sick.

Just another example of how overpowered the Pistol is. Not only do they get the weapons with the highest DPS, the most effective range (close), the most powerful specials (stopping shot, melee defense) andthe least penalty damage in melee, they also get the best bonuses.

There was also an issue with effective ranges, where Carbine users window for best range was too small and the penalty for being outside that range was too high. I saw the post on it, but couldnt find it for exact numbers. I dont recall the specific numbers so I'll have to generalize. Basically what is said was something like this (doing this from memory)...

Rifles... Best at long range, average at medium range, poor at close range.

Pistols... Poor at long range, average at medium range, Best at close range.

Carbines...Poor at long range, best at medium range, poor at close range.

I REALLY wish I had the exact numbers from that post to make this a little more legitimate. Just thought I throw this out and hope that somebody else had seen that same post.

Not to mention that there's no incentive to take carbine besides its effectiveness as a weapon. Since this isn't currently much of an incentive, we're screwed. Rifles have the advantage of the legendary headshot 3 and sniper shot, plus the highest damages in the game making them good choices in PvP. Pistols are a prereq for Smuggler, incentive enough in itself. Also note that you get more points of carbine accuracy and speed from ONE BRANCH of bounty hunter than from THE ENTIRE SKILL TREE for Carbineer. Im sorry, but that extra xp grind to make novice BH isn't enough of a counter-balance for this unbalancing power.

I better stop before this turns into yet another rant on how Carbine is underpowered.

I'd agree, you guys need some more skill mods.

And after you get them, kill all the BHs and tell them to stop mucking up other professions' boards with their stupid "I should be themostl33t ub3r PK cause I spent 77 points learning to camp" threads.

its the same way with melee classes too, if you compare the bonuses a fencer and a tka get to a pikeman or swordsman, its sick, TKAs and fencers get wayyyyyyyy more defence/resists/toughness than the other 2 classes.

This would go along with my experience ofhaving four skills (three intermediate and one advanced) in the carbine tree and not being able to solo the same creature I could with fourth tier pistol skills in the marksman tree.
