As i watch my poor little sliced laser carbine's condition dewindle until 0, i ask myself.. Whats next?

Im almost to carbineer, like 5000 exp or something.. Heh... 1 biz natch mission.. but anywho.. Whats the best carbine?

Im pretty stuck on my laser carbine.. It right now is a 17-215 3.6spd with nice range and lower ham.

But what is the best carbine?

Laser carbines have a Armor piercing of 3! and thats the best of all carbines, the rest are 2... So... If i get a higher DMG carbine it will have a lower Armor piercing and be useless anyway... so what do you say?

There is no best weapon. Only best situational carbine. Some are better because they are quicker. Some are better because they spit out more damage over time. Still others do different damage types.

If you are hunting mobs you can kill in 1-3 hits, then speed doesn't matter. But if you know you'll be in a lengthy battle, a quicker weapon might be better. Still other people have their stats tweaked so that specials attacks cost them more HAM, so they would want a weapon that has lower HAM costs.

The laser, in my opinion, is still one of the best.

I use an elite carbine because it has the highest certification ... then when no one is looking I whip out my laser carbine because the elite carbine is only elite in name. Elite Carbines should be dropping off of swoopers or thugs. The minimum and average damage on an elite carbine is higher than the others but it's slow and has a low maximum damage cap. If you're just blasting away and not using special moves then use an elite. Use a laser carbine for bleeds, dxr6 and E11 will outdamage an elite. You'll be upset with a carbine the first time you pvp. You'll try an impairing shot and the other player will stopping shot, knockdown, underhanded shot, mind shot or an actual damaging shot and you'll cry. He'll die eventually if you hit him. Your chances of winning against another ranged weapon class are zero.

Just a quick nitpick to head off any misinformation spreading at the pass.

Laser carbines are 2 armor rating. All others (except for DH17s, DH17 Snubnoses, and EE3s, which are AR0) are AR1.

There's only one AR3 weapon in the game, and it's the T21 rifle.

i got a hard hitting laser and tomorow i should be getting a new DXR6 with allHAM under 20 and speed under 3 un-sliced. I told him to spair to expenses in getting me the fastest firing, lowest HAM DXR6, so that will be my high speed weapon. (it will be like my sub machine gun mp5pdw)

so ya the best weapon allaround is one that is designed for all around use, like with moderate speed and damage and HAM

I don't think there issingle end all carbine. I only have master marksman skills but I use a Laser and a EE3. Right now I'm doing Crazed Durni missions south of Coronet City on Corellia like crazy. They pay good money (2000-2500 credis) and are fairly easy.

What I do isuse the Laser to pop off the spawns (leg shot 2) then I use the EE3 (full auto single) to take out the lair in 3-5 hits. . . very effective. Add in my greater sludge panther as an occasional tank (which I probably won't be able to use after next weeks patch) and I'm having a blast.

Sounds like a pretty solid plan atimes.

But why not save the EE3 for when the mobs get too close and use the laser on the lair as well to blow it in 2-3 instead?

What makes the E11 better than the EE3? HAM costs?

Am I the only one whose EE3 fires at insanely high accuracy at 50 meters but couldn't hit a beached whale at 20 meters???

What's the deal here?

karik, please post a screenshot of your new carbine with 3 speed and all ham under 20. I know several weaponsmith including master and I simply wont believe that gun exists with those stats until ive seen one. Ive seen several of them in game so far, but none with stats as youve mentioned, not even close.

I'm only up to specialist.
I have a E11, EE3, and a Laser. . . and I want more. I use all three and mix and match.

E11 and Laser for mobs (E11 mostly because it doesn't hit for 4000 one round and 3 the next)

I use my EE3 for taking out lairs.

Different strokes for different folks. I agree with the first response. There is no "ultimate" carbine.

Well...I am 300,000 carbine xp from Master so I guess I will toss in my opinion (and that is all it is so take it for that):

Laser Carbine.

I carry nothing else. That may change when I get my hands on a nice, sliced DXR6 or Elite. Till then I have seen nothing in my millions on carbine xp to make me think any carbine to date even touches the Laser Carbine. Compare the numbers that float over the mob (this is the actual damage you do after armor is accounted for) with the combat spam. You will begin to notice the Laser Carbine hits MUCH harder than ANY of the other carbines.

Use what you like, but I say LC all the way, under any circumstances, no matter what.
