So I've basically decided to become a MBH.. Three days of grinding BH, and I'm a 0/4/4/4 so far. The thing is, I've also been grinding CH. When I first started SWG, I always wanted to become a CH. Also, I have maybe 0/2/1/1 skills in Carbineer.
So I asked around in-game, and people aren't sure about how a MBH/MCH would work. But now, since the CH update, I think it's the perfect time to be one. I want to be a successful Jedi-hunter, but I also love being a CH. So, as a template, I was maybe thinking MBH/MCH/Novice Carb/... maybe I could get a melee defense skill from the FS tree or something.
As far as that.. can someone tell me how successful I'd be at hunting Jedi? I know people are quick to say it won't work, but can you explain to me why it wouldn't? I mean, a rancor with extra abilities and all that should be able to distract the Jedi for a bit while I cap at him with my Carb, right?
But anyways.. I'd really hate to give up CH, but if I'm gonna be hunting Jedi what's the point if I'm not any good at it?
So what do the veterans think? Do I have to give up the new CH to be successful? What should I change to be able to hunt them? I want to be able to hold my own against full-temps.

Well we have a MCH/MBH wandering around these boards somewhere, Ive seen his sig but cant remember his name. Hopefully he'll visit this thread. So if he doesnt go look at all the posts til you find a sig saying his character and ask him. But only thing I see wrong is maybe drop carbines and pick up some healing. I think every template needs some healing to be effective against any higher level jedi.

Best advise I could give is go:
MBH / MCH / 4xxx CM and then you have 3 extra poinst left over ( good place to put em in FS melee defence )
it'd be a pretty potent template imo, pets can be VERY distracting and do a good bit o damage..just gotta learn how to paly whatever template you like =)
CHs are pretty aweomse....and hopefully they'll hotfix soon for the broken commands

Hate to say it, but a MBH/MCH will die against Jedi (assuming you dont want to just go after Padawans). First of all, if you're even able to get your pets out before the jedi scurries away, they are a maximum of lvl 70, meaning they'll go down quick. Second, you have no healing with that template and no really high-damage weapon skills. So you can't outlast or outdamage the jedi either. I was MBH/MCH for a little while... it was impossible to kill anything near my level, heh. I'm not sure exactly what the implications of the new CH skills are, but you almost assuredly will not be able to kill Jedi. I'd be interested to hear your results though, love to see you prove me wrong
The best templates seem to be MRifle/MBH/CM4000 or MBH/MDoc. The trick typically isn't to outdamage your opponent in a quick burst, but rather to outlast the Jedi by wearing his force down. Keep a range of +30m and keep healed, and eventually you'll wear him down. Good luck!

Thanks for responding, I appreciate all the feedback.
Now, I'm gonna drop all extra skills like Novice Carb and put that into CM4000. And then extra points go into FS defense. For my strategy, I'd pull my pet out when I knew where the mark was. Once I got a little closer, I'd send the pet in to do a few abilities while I pop from afar. I mean, hopefully the Jedi will drain his force trying to heal or get the status effects off. By the time he gets to me, my pet will have softened him up maybe a bit and I'll just run and shoot from there.
But if anyone else has any feedback, I'd appreciate it.

Oh.. and would it matter between CM4000 and Doctor4000? What are the differences for combat?

Well if you wanted to master both BH and CH you wouldn't have the skill points to do the Doc 4/0/0/0, just the CM 4/0/0/0.
CM shares ranged support that you already invested skills in when you become a BH, where as for Doc, you need two new branches in Medic instead of just one. I hope that made sense because I have been up all night at work.

with CM you would have the nice AE heal....which would help your pets too =)
and a lvl 70 pet dosn't exactly go down fast.....when grouped with a lvl 80...heck...even on its own not grouped a lvl 70 pet dosn't exactly go down fast lol
