Hey all - I'm a pretty new MBH (2 days ago) and am finally able to go after Jedi marks and I ran into something I wasn't ready for - cloaking. After chasing my first mark all over Tat - I follow him to Dath where I figure he's helping someone with the phase 3 village quest - sure enough.

Well, I approach the base where my wp is and see that they're just starting to take on the sith - perfect I think - Well I get closer and see one jedi working on a group of sith, and another group of sith surrounding....nothing. I had gotten the name of the mark from the seeker and tried /target (name) nothing. So, my element of surprise gone - I picked a spot to try to ambush about 1/2 way to the village. Same deal - here comes the one jedi - and the commander and in front (right where my wp says they are) nothing.

Finally I just decided, I'm not gonna get this guy, I just don't know how to counter that - and I headed off - only to have my mark stick his tounge out at me. (Actually laughed at that one). Yeah, I admit it, I'm new to Jedi hunting - so I could use some constructive advice on how to deal with this situation.

if he's already cloaked there's nothing you can really do, lest get you and a ton of your buds to hang around him to try to drain his force. The trick is not letting him cloak. 20m range from all pc's, npc's, and swoops to be able to cloak (except group members, can cloak right in front of them), tho with server and client lag it can appear to be a lot closer

to exand on the original question. do seeker droids continue to give the correct location of the target while he's moving even though the target is cloaked?

Just yesterday I attacked a Jedi cloaker on Dathomir. The fight lasted 10 minutes. When he realized he could not win, he hit me with KD, forceran away and re-cloaked. The funny thing about this encounter was that I used droids to catch up with him a few minutes later. He was AFK but still cloaked and was doing a force meditate to regen the force while he was away. Apparently he felt safe this way. However I figured out how to get him.

65 meters away there was a large group of 15 Nightsister Slaves, all CL71. I attacked the whole group and pulled them next to this cloaker's location. I stood there and tanked while this group of NPCs ate away at his force -- even force meditate couldn't keep up with the rate it was going down. A few minutes later he ran out of force and uncloaked -- still AFK. I finished him off in short order, getting in a DB before the NPCs incapped me as well.

I really love getting Jedi like this when they think they're being clever. It reminds me of the time last year when I used a bomb droid to take out an unbuffed Jedi who thought he was safe in the water.

Yes. You can track the Jedi with droids when he's cloaked.

What id like to know. If a Jedi is Cloaked and you stand next to him How much force does it drain? I was Next to a Guy cloaked. Stood there talkin to a guy. Must have been 15 min. Guy never uncloaked till he attacked a Smuggler going SF at a recruiter. So just how much Force is used.

its like 25 per person or entity in range per tick. one person is hardly enough to drain a full temps force pool

i hate force cloak, i had one jedi last night force cloak and then logged out. Another jedi last weekend, force cloaked and then waited til the tef was gone and then went into his guild hall and went afk.

Its an over powered ability, they need to change it so they can only force cloak when not in combat and u do not have a bh tef. i think that can fix alot of the problems, if they did that, a jedi can still force run away and when the tef wore off then the jedi can cloak and get away. Also need to increase the force cost of cloak alot, i think it was said that it was 25 force power per person, so it should be more like 100 and see if it brings it more into balance as something you can't sustain forever.

Force cloak should help u get away but it shouldnt be a first andonly means of escaping a bh.

thats my two cents

Wow Thats all Sheesh. wish Mask Scent was like that Back in My master ranger days. AKA FEar the Kreedle.

For those saying its Over powerd and Such. I dunno its a Escape Mech. for them. Do we nerf it? Why ya saw what Our Prof did to Smugglers. Perhaps we save the Nerf as Leverage for something we want.

Force cloak is an escape mechanism. What good would it do if we couldn't do it in combat? duh

Not every jedi has force run, just like not every jedi has force cloak. If the jedi wants to spend all his skill points on means to escape, then that means hes weaker in attack or defense.

While you may not like when your mark disappears from in front of you, we dislike it even more when we lose 400k xp. So forgive us if we don't just bend over and take it.

It's your job to take us out, not our job to lay down for you.

Yes i hate cloak but no need to nerf this cause a jedi who choosed cloak spent a lot of sp in it and is easy to kill if u can prevent him from cloaking.i call that balance even if i hate it

Always set a droid on follow when u start attacking him (bestis mouse droid). Also dont let him get away more than 20m from u. If he runs it could be cause of 3 matters : 1) he is a cloaker 2) he (dont) knows how good u are 3) low force pool

When he kds or root u recover very fast and use kd paralyseor root on him and hope it will not miss... if it misses and he cloaks mission is done for this challenge and u can maybe try it later again.

btw snare is also a good way to not let him get too far away...

another possibility is to leave force cloak as it is but to allow the seekers to increase the force cost of force cloak each time a seeker updates by 250 to 500 force power( notsure ifit is too much or too little). This would allow a jedi to remain cloaked for some time but not indefenitely. The cool thing about this is that if a jedi is already cloaked and a bh arrives to a planet and sends a seeker a jedi can detect that he is being hunted. I think thats a pretty cool trade off. Good idea or bad?
