What exactly does it do? does applying an ADK to armor prevent anything?

armor break basicly nullifies most of the effectiveness of your armor while it is applied. This allows the jedi/melee to do alot more damage than they normally would be able to. A visit to your local smuggler for some armor break slices (the highest level mitigates 75% of the effects of AB) is a very good idea

think of it like this, say my power attack does 1k. Well, depending on your armor, while armor breaked, I could quite possible do upwards of 1.5k+, followed by a head hit 1.5 secs later (while ab'd, prolly round 800+ dmg) followed almost instantly by a leg hit (same dmg) then body hit. (same again) So I just did over 3k damage in 10 seconds, and if I would have knocked you down first, well, it almost doubles the dmg. This is why you stay out of saber range.

Not taking into condsideration of various armor resitences an armorBreak(x4xx lightsaber) is supposed to decrease resistences by 65%.
What I do when fighting in PvP, or even PvE for that matter, is to start with Armorbreak which can bump dmg up from 800-1k. This is a loose assesment and the numbers are not true.
Armor break in its self isn't where the true power comes from when fighting a Jedi. The one's who've attained mastery in lightsaber will more then likely hit with:
Armorbreak, (-65% resistences)
Dizzy, (has a nice benny to dmg that's overlooked by most Jedi)
stun, (works similar to intimidation)
AdvancedSaberThrwo (KD and the 2nd most damaging attack availble at Lightsaber Mastery),
Power Hit (most powerful attack)
(if all the previous attacks had stuck I will do about 1200-1400 and my saber is NOT near the best it can be; 650ish max dmg)

I believe Force Shield may help against the break, too, if you're doing Jedi vs Jedi. Not sure, though. Anyone care to confirm?

Wow. That must really suck in Jedi vs Jedi PvP, as if one Jedi has AB and the other doesn't, he's pretty much doomed.
