Thread: How would you guys like to have an alpha class that branches off from BH?

Just as hard to get as Jedi and just as good.

And more alpha classes than that. It would definitely help the game by drawing the attention away from Jedi.

I actually like this idea and I thought that was what the BH themepark was going to start but yet there was never a Themepark added.

A few of us have come up with several varying ideas such as this...I came up with Mandolarian Warrior (hey timeline dont exsist ask any jebay) in which it would be a long hard grind and the outcome would be BH powerhouses with special armor, specials and weapons all in the name of eleiminating jebays er jedi. This way SOE could remove jedi from PvP/GCW enact jedi wars and have alpha class hunters as well.

My response to the thought.

In short, I would love to see a whole SLEW of professions, equal to Jedi in terms of both grind and power, that have nothing to do with Jedi. I think many folks became Jedi because:

1) Nothing left to grind. We've become so conditioned that there's SOMETHING left to grind that it's in our nature to go find more work to do.

2) PVP ability. This is becoming less and less of a reason as the Dev's balance Jedi down to 1.0 status. Back when I initially wrote it, Jedi were still much more powerful than they are now.

3) 2nd character slot. Would be readily available to any who unlock one of these "Jedi-class" professions.

Currently,it seems the Dev's solution to it is to nerf the Jedi down to regular character status without reducing the grind time to get there. *shrug*

Hey remove the long grind (its not hard) and make jedi a duel elite prof! End of all the jedi rage that is across the board.

While I would agree with you on a personal level, there are many Jedi who would not. They did the grind, whether it be village or holo, and lived through the times, whether it be perma-, or saber, skillbox loss, etc. They'll scream like banshees if you knock the grind down to equivalent to a normal prof and make Jedi a dual elite prof.

If they just fixed all of theclass's people would play them more, after they fix all the class's then they could work on making more alpha class`s to work for. They could combine a couple elites to unlock the long grind for another, like a mbh and Master smuggler to get some elite criminal class or Mranger Mrifle to get some elite recon trooper grind ect. ect. you guys get the idea.I would think before they do they they should fix the other class`s.

Don't do your job to the best of your ability. Just do your job.

I wouldnt like it because the it would be the side with most Jedi/BH wins and screw the rest...Lets concentrate in fixing the broken stuff first and then you can ask for ub3r ph4t ideas...

I support Pie and Beer in a large scale.

MMOG's usually go the other way around, adding broken content in the form of money-making expansions while devoting a small fraction of those resources to already existing broken content. I think they bank on the idea that people will buy the shiny-new stuff in hopes of it "fixing" the already broken rusty stuff. And so far, they're right.

Yes, if they only added ONE alpha-class prof, that would be true. If they offered two or three alpha-classes for ALL major branches (artisan, entertainer, scout, marksman, brawller, medic) then it would add another layer to the game bringing those professions up to the status of Jedi. Then there'd be more variety.

This topic is brought all the time in the GCW Forum. Here's my thoughts on the TOPIC, but I don't think it should end with just one profession. All professions should get an Advance Profession to use.
