so, in celebration of the aquisition of corellia by the rebels on tempest, my guild decides to go for some pvp.

we go to coronet, reb jedi in a flock of maybe 20+ force running all over the damn city. if there were any imps there, they would be dead pretty instantly. so no pvp there.

go to bestine, wait for my guild. guy goes overt without me noticing and proceeds to smack the everliving heck out of me. no problem, my bad for not paying attention. i talk to the guy afterward and he thought i was coming with the massive herd of jedi from cnet. apparently he went to bestine to get away from instant jedi death.i tell him that i just left since they would kill any imp before i could get a ranged shot in. i say "the jedi screw themselves over by forming those massive gank squads, it makes people not like to pvp and call for jedi nerfs." he agrees with me.so after other guildies show up in bestine and get killed by a few regular elite master lvl 80 playersin bestine, we decided to regroup in anchorhead. perfect, now we can have a full out pvp war.

we head to bestine, only to find no spec force players. so, as we sit there trying to decide what to do now, we see a few red dots loading in the starport. ahah, here they come. we go into the starport and wait for them to come into the hall for some indoor brawling. then we hear the terrible sounds of force buffs. so in desperation we run out into the courtyard to hopefully take a few of the jedi out before they can load. no dice. our group of 6 gets annihilated literally within 5 seconds.

super fun.

honestly folks, if i got caught alone by a group of 6 master pistols/smugglers or whatever, i'd expect to die. just a case of numbers. but group versus group with jedi on either or both sides tends to be absolutely no fun for the non-jedi. the jedi kill the lesser combat professions off on both sides and then it becomes jedi wars.

i know "if you expect to win in pvp every time then don't" blah blah blah "you're whining about not having an 'i win' button" yada yada yada. you're damn right i thought i'd die, i just hoped to maybe incap or kill another player before i did. in war, tons of people get killed before they have a chance to react, sure, i understand. but we were prepared, ready, buffed with food spices drink weapons powered up and still all of us got mowed over. maybe if half of us died giving the others enough time to run, i could live with it. but i can't imagine this instant death being fun for anyone, on either side.

and don't justify the power of jedi by using the movies. don't even try. if you wanted a truly authentic timeline then you would not be a jedi at all, there would be no rebel possession of any core world, and most of us would be farmers.

i'm not going to try to propose anything, just saying that pvp still seems pretty broken to me.
