Thread: Solutions to Jedi vs Bounty Hunter and Overpopulation
Your heart is in the right place, but this is a terrible idea.
The solution is probably the exact opposite of your idea. If anything *more* xp should be lost. Jedi can make up the xp that they lost in 2 hours at most. However, more xp loss would give them more incentive to remain hidden.
It wouldn't be a problem now that group vis is gone. If they stayed hidden, they wouldn't have to worry about xp loss.
They put themselves on the terms, so they really have no right to complain.
Though I think some form of perma-death should be re-implemented.
XP Loss slows the low level Jedi, but the High Level Jedi don't care about it. They are the ones that show off, so they are the ones that need a reason to stay hidden.
Perma-Death will never happen again.
Perma death is not an option either, as the Jedi character has been that persons character from the start of the game and to kill it off is for lack of a better word, cruel.
Experience loss, while it kind of serves its purpose, it is not really significant and as you have notices is a great source of tension and trouble between players.
Punishment I don't think is the correct way to go about anything in a game because a game is supposed to be enjoyable. The best solution is to provide Jedi with content that is appealing enough to keep them invisible to the general player base. If the main source of enjoyment and content for Jedi is away from the content of everyone else, then they will become far less visible. Also take away the need for the Jedi to come into cities and interact with people and this will again diminish their visibilty. IF their is no reason for them to be in cities other than travel, then thats all they will come there for generally. For example take the Lord Nyax POI, you don't get punished for ebing, there is just no real reason to be there and thats why its deserted. Just apply that to the Jedi issues and you will find that Jedi will become invisble by choice because there is no reason to be visible. Content is the key, give Jedi content that makes them invisible, not punish them for being visible. Its a win - win situation and everyone is happy.
But then again there are the masochists amongst us who must see people suffer in some way to be satisfied. With a little thought and application, solutions can be found that play to everyones needs without the requirement of punishment of one or more of the involved parties.

Exactly , they need a reason to stay hidden, so that is why i proposed the Idea of NPC hit squads that 'CAN' (if you are stupid enough to get caught and trapped) result in Perma Death.
This to me would be enough to makeany Jedi stay hidden ( read hidden as not sitting in a Starport with saber ablaze ) or at least try to keep some senseto the reality that Jedi would face in the SW universe.
Please understand i also dont mean a little visabilty i refer to constantly using your saber in Cities such as Thead, and generally ruining the SWG experience.

But that'd mean going to the DWB would be out of the question, since its mainly NPC's.
This is up to the players choice, being a Jedi gaining visability, but again it still gives you the choice, if you do gain enough visibiilty to get a NPC hit squad on your arse then again you have the choice to play it smart and run and hide or stay and fight, episode 3 when outnumbered and out guned what did the Jedi do , they ran there little arses of and hid,
Remember you do not have to fight, you can run. Just like if bounty hunters are after you and you dont want to fight them run, hide, whatever you like.
And this in turn would give you more content, actually being hunted by Vader and his men. Maybe the Devs can than build a story around this for the Jedi i dont know...
