because of this my new set of armour has taken a right good beating so i sent a tell to my good freind guppie on eclipse to repair it and his reply was "you may as well to it yourself im no better than you" is this correct a master armoursmith cant repair armour ?

Last time I checked, AS and WS get a tiny bonus for repairing items. The bonus is so small, you might as well do it yourself unless you need someone to put the blame on if it fails.

Do a quick log out and in and the stats will update. Do not, repeat do not try to hunt without doing the step I mentioned. If you do, when you log out and in, the repair will not take hold, but condition will drop. Example, armor at 3410 of 19k. I repair and it says moderate repair. That would normally take condition down to arounf 15k. If you log out and in, the armor would then be 15k of 15k. However, say you dont log out and go hunt. When you then log out and in, the condition would be something like 2100 of 15k instead of say 14.1k of 15k. Its a rather nasty bug and I believe devs are aware of it.
On a side note, a force sensitive repairer can really do wonders on armor. The +20 you get to repair seems to make a big difference in repairing armor.

i am not sure if this is true, but one of my guildies told me if you repair your armor and fail, condition will goto 1/1. if it does this, it will no longer decay BUT will provide the same protection as one that is 34k/34k soo.. i dunno if this is true, but if it is THEN it would basically mean failing at armor repair would be better than buying a new suit

Although this is technically correct, many AS types also pick up the repair tapes when they see them for sale, and they do still work. So, the bonus can be significant.
