Hi guys - Quick question, here, little background, i am a novice smuggler, and i have a small question about Feign Death.

Is Feign Death skill working as it should? is it worth picking up first? as a brawler i die alot but would it be nice to pick Feign Death up so i dont die as much?

Does Feign Death cost HAM? Like alot? a little? know an exact amount?

What would be the first skill to get in Novice Smuggler Tree?

Thanks in advance for answer my questions =) I will stop by frequently to post on this thread. Thanks again !

Feign Death is the best.

There is the problem of not being able to feign sometimes becuase it thinks your still running but if you go prone and stand up it helps alot. I decided to go with feign death before my pistoleer skills and I do not regret it at all.

Feign Death is pathetic and worthless. Here let me take a blast to my chest before i can lay down in which most cases you wont be feigning death at all you will really be dead.

The whole point of feigning death is to avoid getting injured ... ive always heard if your in the forest and you come across a bear lay down motionless. I assume this is where feign death kinda came from not ANYWHERE did i hear way for the bear to smack the snot out of you then fall down and lay motionless. Its a very stupid Skill i got it a few weeksago and i have used it like once.

Dont bother.

The whole point of feign death is to not die. I dont care if I take a hit as long as I dont have to run back from the cloning facility or watch that imp death blow me.

FD should = EQ FD, then it will actually be worth more then a parlor trick. Its a pretty poor implementation at this point in time.

just use burst run it works much better and takes less off your HAM then the hit you will sustain while trying to use FD.

Most of the time when i use fiegn death i take such a big it actually does incap me.

Fiegn death should be an anytime i have agro move ... if a mob agros on me i FD i drop while the mob is running at me ... it sniffs me (or whatever) and depending on the creature will either drop agro or continue attacking me THEN i should take the big hits.

I dunno, i gotta agree with the SanTzu...

I always thought it was stupid to see a monk running full speed at his group, mobs on his butt, only to see him FD and fall to the ground...

What, did he die from excitement? heartattack? come on? did he TRIP? geez. it was always lame.

at least now we hafta get HIT, so what if most of the time you're not faking! at least it looks like it's really dying! lol.

On that note, i rarely use it because when you run away with your pistol blazing, you rarely get caught.

but your not supposed to be really dying ... or really incapped your supposed to Be FAKING. Like in my example with the bear your not going to wait for the bear to strike you before you go down your trying to avoid the pain and the damage. against Human targets yes feign death shouldnt be as useful but against animals it should work like that.

I should Not take have to take a big hit in order to feign death ... feign death you're trying to avoid pain damage and death ... not have to be neardeath in order to fake it.

I use feign death constantly to get past mobs and npc's that would be impossible otherwise. Case in point: Dathomir. Burst run gets me killed more often than not. Feign death is extremely useful.

hell my stomping grounds is Dathomir im always there ... i tried to feign death once while being chased guess what i got incapped anyway... wow great skill.

It seems its just a matter of opinion, and how you choose to use it. Be your own judge and try it out. If you don't feel comfortable using your skill points on it, then spend them elsewhere and come back to FD later.

I don't know what you Feign Death Nay-Sayers are smoking but I have two questions. What is it? Where canI get some?

Feign death works nearly exactly like the Monk ability with the exception that you actually have to get hit. To me this is a very small price to pay vs. a trip to the Cloning Center, death, etc.

Are you sure you're really getting incapped? So far, even when I've taken enough damage to incap me, I still just feign. It looks like I'm incapacitated, my countdown timer initiates, but I can get up at any time I want to. Have you tried getting up while the timer's still counting down?

The best part about Feign Death is the ability not to have to worry about walking back to your corpse. You can just lie there, heal up a bunch (fully if you want), let that Health Shot 2 do a little DOT to the thing you've hit, and then when ready, you can get up and run like hell. Heck, even your burst run timer continues to refresh while you're Feigning. If you're in PvP there's no way for your opponent to even deathblow you, that in itself is a great advantage. Could it be that you've just got the DFI branch? The HAM costs do go down as you increase in skill.

In any case, to each his own. Get off the idea that somehow you're an EQ monk and learn how a new skill works and maybe you'll enjoy it.
