Thread: A Bounty Hunter Experience.
there is a neat little skill that the FOTM BH's have , its called cover ( yes its a rifleman skill, but as i say , most BH are riflemen, including myself), it cloaks you from radar and from regular players.
try adjusting you template in order to get this skill , if you are finding it impossible to suprise/first strike an oponent.

We have no first strike, we have no surprise attack. Its all garbage. They know when we are after them, because of duel Exploit and radar. I read in another post, about a great idea.
First of all....there are MANY reasons why a Jedi knows that you are after them. They are not ALL exploits and it pretty much has nothing to do with the radar.
It seems to me, MOST of the bounty hunters do not try to get a surprise attack. Let me tell you how I know when a bounty hunter is after me.
1) sitting cloaked in the middle of nowhere on talus. bounty hunter comes up to his waypoint and says, "I love cloak". DOH!! guess he didnt want to surprise me.
2) sitting in my house. blue dot appears on my overhead map. do an /ex "name" and guess what....he has mastered the bounty hunter profession. I watch him, he stops right outside my house and sends me a tell..."come out so I can kill you". Again, not wanting the surprise.
3) grinding in a group (even before no visibility). See a blue dot on the overhead map. 3-4 jedi run in different directions. Bounty hunter follows his mark and then sits outside the house that the jedi is hiding in. Closer to a surprise attack, but not quite winning the best surprise award.
4) sitting in my house and get a /tell or email from some unknown person wanting to sell me a premium pearl/crystal. I have no idea who this is, so how would he know if I want a pearl/crystal or not. DEFINITE bounty hunter. I then do a /findfriend on this name, and guess what?? I can track him all the way from the kaadara bh terms to my house which is on dantooine.
All 4 of these examples HAVE HAPPENED. It seems to me, that MOST bounty hunters dont WANT the surprise attack. It also makes me believe that the bounty hunters that do these things really dont know HOW to hunt. Most importantly, they dont want to LEARN. I have had bounty hunters attack me when I wasnt expecting it. (ie: while trying to travel and I have the starship terminal open)
To sum all this up, there are MANY ways for jedi to know exactly which bounty hunter is after them. Not all Jedi exploit.
ever thought that some bh's dont have all day to wait and "learn when your 3/4 out of force"
alot of bh's get sick after every jedi they go after is in a house or on kashyyyk and they just want a fight ..win or loose. Nothing wrong with the skill just people get tired of the same ol crap.
Cover is all well and good... if you enjoy moving 1 meter every minute or so
not to mention anything you go near discovers you (including your own swoop)
I say give MBH a special camouflage or "stalk" cloak kinda thing

WoLpAcK, please try not to take this personally. Your comment just opened the door to a general rant. It is in no way directed at you personally.
Interestingly enough, the first branch of the Bounty Hunter's tree is "Investigations".
in-ves-ti-ga-thion
1. The act of process of investigating.
2. A detailed inquiry or systematic examination.
3. An inquiry into unfamiliar or questionable activities.
4. The work of inquiring into something thoroughly and systematically.
Jis, Apparently u werent listening when i said that everyone is the same profession, and that is boring. I am Master Carbs, and im staying thati dont think it is right that because ur a rifleman you should get to sneak and no other BH can, which doesnt work unless u have about 4 hours to spend crawling.
And as for the Cloak comment, I said veteran BH. A Good BH doesnt just run up on a jedi. With the sneak ability u would not see him on radar, and u wouldnt just activate your cloak for no reason now would you. Cover all bases before u present argument.

Crawl speed is governed by your "Terrain negotiation" skill level. 1-50 affects your ability to move up hill and over terain. 50-100 affects your crawl speed.
At Scout 4/0/0/0 you will have Terrain Negaotion +40. Force Sesitive Reflexes 0/0/0/3 will give you an additional +5. A loot neclace from the Nyax hideout (his men drop it) will give you an aditoinal +5. A BE shirt (warn under your armor) will give you +18 (+/- a few). Then CA's and AA's. Or you can add Ranger. At Ranger2/0/0/0 you will get +25.
Point is, play the game and use the tools available. Be a true warrior; adapt and overcome. Soon, you will be crawlingfaster than the Voritor.

Freaken, Your missing the point. FIRST STRIKE, this will knock a opponent off gaurd making them vulnurable. If you ask for the fight thats means the jedi will be focused, attentive and confident. Something a BH trys to weaken and gain the upper hand. And im sure some do that but many i know dont like that way. It takes the fun out. This game is Supposed to be like Star Wars, Had Boba/Janga Fett Walked up to a jedi and said, I would like to kill you, Can you come out and play. And then the jedi locks his door and says no. What is this the 3 little pigs. "Not by the hairs on my chinny chin chin" (the jedi thinks in his head) ". Dont get me wrong a jedi has the right to hide in his house. But in the real SWG-"Beep Beep, Click Clickity Click, Ping.....
Missile ARMED" "Boom" his house would be now more. or more discreetly. DING DONG, u have a package or a delivery, and Bam. Something to that nature. Altough i know that would create complications
Now i now what ur saying about some BH, there just in it for the quick kill. But alot of my guild is not. Of course some times it calls for such actions, running up and destroying ur target with out notice. But most of the time you should study ur opponent. But u cant do that because of radar and so many other things. Just saying a new stalk option would be nice.
