Do the bonuses given for defense from tera kasi or fencer apply when equipped with a ranged weapon? Thanks in advance for the answer.

Well not like ranged or damage migration but Melee Defense and Ranged Defense stacks to other professions.

I know that you guys are probably just as tired of reading these as I am on the smuggler forums. But I have a second character who needs a job and since BH NPC marks seem to have the best rate drop for smuggler loots this seemed like the best route for me. How effective is a MBH/Master Combat Medic? I know many go with pistols or rifles or carbs in addition but I need the skill points to maintain Novice Merchant for my sales too and MBH/MCM seems to be the best. I don't plan on taking on many player Marks but mostly NPC. Is this effective enough to be able to succeed?

well its pretty good. But mind you you wont do as much direct damage as say a MBH/MR or a MBH/MC. You will do more indirect damage like paralyze, hemoraghe, drains. But poison and fire are two direct damage types from CM. MBH/MCM seems to be highly popular though I didn't get into the craze since I prefer to do direct damage to my opponent. The only drawback with MBH/MCM is that if a group aggros you your most likely SOL.
