Bounty Hunter Archive
Thread: I think the Padawans are mostly in hiding now...
I haven't hunted full time since the patch, but this is what I have seen,
- Jedi On Tatooine Hunting Krayts
- Jedi on Tatooine Running missions
- Dantooine Mining Outpost
- Not Online
- Kashyyk
- Kashyyk
- Naboo
- Talus
Wasn't a lot to go from, and I think I am pretty lucky. I do not have Jump to Lightspeed or RotW so I can't even go to Kashyyk. /shrug

I got six kills over the weekend, and I'm hoping the fact that I needed rezzing twice yesterday was due to me getting careless (a victim of my own success), and not the beginning of a trend. I've had several very long stalking sessions too, only one of which has panned out.
But I'm up close to a million credits (even after expenses) since patch 20.

The paddies that gets on the terms are usually the ones that gets invited to random groups at MO.
I suspect what is happening is this: most padawans as of now were NOT Jedi prior to the CU. Between double xp weeks, LOS bugs, and virtually EVERY Jedi being on the Bounty Terminals, Jedi had 3 advantages:
1) They could get XP a lot faster than they could lose it to a BH.
2) Every Jedi being on the terms means very low probability of your mission being drawn, except for the sub-100k ones who wasted their 7-day "grace period."
3) For the higher-level bounties (180k+), the sheer number of Jedi on the terms meant it could take literally hours for two or more BH's to come after you. Our guild put a hit out on a 186k idiot (who had been harassing guild members) after Pub 19. The first BH found the mission after 30 minutes. It was another 25 before a second one found him. After a total of 2 hours, a third BH found him.
Now, the Jedi are facing the following:
1) It is now possible to avoid visibility. Sure, you don't care about vis, but if everyone else starts caring, pretty soon, you're the only one on the terms... so, over the last week, a lot of Padawans have become a lot more careful.
2) Marks on Kashyyyk: For the first time, I've searched the Ryatt trail at near peak hours (Friday afternoon) and THREE of the instances were empty. On Bria. The Jedi who are still grinding here are now more likely to be hunted, because with fewer padawans on the terms, each individual mission is coming up more often. Therefore, a Ryatt-grinder gets more BH per visit than before.
This might not be happening to the extent I expect, but it IS happening. Even the full templates are watching their backs more, like Barb's post above.
This is off the top of my head, after pub 20 (not in any particular order and not counting "offline" bug):
1. I killed 175K at the starport on Kashykk
2. I killed a 220K inside one of the Ryatt trails on Kashykk.
3. Tracked one to Rori,. The jedi got away aftermy clumsy approach.
4. Tracked one to Endorinside of the Death Watch bunker (dropped mission afterI became friends with one of his guildies waiting for him outside...cool guy)
5. Attacked a full temp low on force on Dantooine, got away rather easily, alpha strike and approach were good but obviously not good enough. Jedi was courteous enough to tell me and explain why he ran, and I saw nothing wrong with it, he did what he had to do.
6. Attacked a Jedi in the Ryaat trails on Kashykk but backed off after I saw she was AFK .This led to a vow to kill all AFK jedi from that moment forward and also caused the random revenge death of #2 aboveafter Jedi trash me to her freinds eventhough I was nice enough to let her live.
7. Attacked Jedi on dantooine that got away. Turned out he probably could have beat mebut he ran, end of story.
About 10 missions dropped because engagement parameters were not perfect:
5 on Kashykk, 1 on Talus,4 on Dantooine..
