it works
defense bonuses affect damage by the min/max tho, higher defense pushing the damage to closer to the mininmum damage of a weapon. lightsabers have a very small range between min/max (500-600), unlike, say, a scatter, that is 385-948. therefore the bonus from 250 to defense is very minimal when fighting jedi. otherwise it works.
it does not, however, return much damage to the attacker.
