Thread: Better ideas for jedi, bh and the game as a whole

Since before jedi came about, people whined about wanting jedi in the game. Then the jedi came and everyone was aiming for it but it was a long hard road, so people whined about how hard jedi was. So what did SOE do, they made jedi easier to attain. So everyone whined about how powerful jedi were so they made jedi more of a whimpy than ever. Now we are crying about dying as jedi and being hunted and loosing xp yet no way to defend as a team. The CU points out to us that Teamwork should be a major turning point in the game and that it should be more valuable in the gameplay. But this CU in my opinion has done nothing but make skills easier to attain, max out levels in shorter amounts of time and weakened the skills of all players and jedi alike.
What can we do to make this game more enjoyable and balanced? -- ok this is going to seem outrageous but i think they are good ideas:
1. BH should have a penalty just like jedi for dying when they attack a jedi and get killed. This should be a downside to being a BH. Or the jedi should get more xp for making that kill. All this jedi xp loss has done nothing but make progressing as a jedi slower and the BH only gets a trip to the cloner. The way things are now does not seem balance nor fair.
2. Jedi should be powerful. Thats what jedi are, JUST PLAIN POWERFUL! sure they should die just as easy as anyone else and we saw it in the movies. Ya this isnt the movies but this is a concept that jedi's were based on. Jedi's should be able to knock the crap out of 3 or 4 opponents but still die at the hands of someone shooting them in the back! Stop complaining about how powerful jedi are, this should have never happend and they never should have been weakened. There are too many crybabies in this game that just dont understand that this is what a jedi is all about. Thats why were meant to be so hard to attain. Not so we have hundreds of jedi on every server.
3. SOE you should look to some concepts from the first MMORPGS. Not saying you havent but here are some ideas i have.
Make it so everyone can attack everyone. or something along these lines...work it in somehow. We dont want everyone murdering everyone.
Add a criminal level to the game. If someone is murdering someone in cold blood make them flagged open for attack for like 3 hours by everyone even townspeople.
Add wanted posters that looks at a persons criminal record and make this available for anyone able to take on these as a mission with extremely nice rewards. This way if you kill someone, you have to pay the consequences by everyone in the game.
4. Teamwork Teamwork Teamwork! you keep saying it so make it a possiblity. If a jedi is being attacked by a bounty hunter, Let his fellow friends able to attack that BH and use camaraderie to protect the jedi. This forces the teamwork factor for not only the jedi but the bounty hunter as well. He shouldnt be able to solo out a jedi attack .....why??? theres no teamwork involved. He incaps our jedi friend then tells him he will let him live for 1mill credits. Jedi dies, looses alot of xp and we stand around twiddling our thumbs wishing there was something we could do to help him. And the BH walks away with is little reward. How is there any honor or teamwork in that?
5. Jedi have force? ok were is it? Its supposed to be all around us in the universe. So doesnt it make sense that jedi should be able to sense things about the force. Back to BH..... if a BH gets a mission for a jedi then that jedi should be able to sense something in the force when say that BH with his mission lands on the planet, or he as he gets closer! But not to an extreme! We dont want jedi turning around like spiderman going spider senses tingling and cap thema BH.

First off, I want to thank you for trying to find ways to improve the game, but this isn't going to work. I'm afraid that if you make jedi more powerful, then it would also need to become harder to get. I'm talking about months of grinding before you can go out and lop off everyone's head. Also, I agree that jedi should have more strength. Personally, I'd like to see a jedi able to take me out in one swing. But, with half of the server's populations being jedi, it would make it extremely unfair to those of us who have no interest in being jedi. If there was a way to narrow the jedi population to maybe 4 or 5 per server, then by all means allow them to heal anything I throw at them, sense a disturbance in the force when i walk near the bh terminal, clean out the dwb in 10 minutes, and basically be the jedi we've all seen in the movies. Now as for bh penalties, not gonna happen. You can't pump up jedi and make bh weaker. A bh has no reason to suffer any more damage than the decay on his equipment from a failed mission because we are a normal profession and as such, get no special bonuses like force heal, force cloak, or lightsabers. Jedi should not get more xp than they get now froma failed bh mission because it should be a long and hard road to get to master. That is one reason I fight against the Rryat trail grinders. To your suggestion about perma-overt status for players, again, I'd have to say no. The devs made it to where no one is forced into pvp for a reason, some people do not like pvp. That's why they changed the tef system. Also, making one profession stronger than the others and then making them all overt to each other, is just wrong. For a perma-overt system to work, every profession needs to be on the same level, making players rely on tactics and equipment to win. The teamwork idea is a great idea, but it would require some changes to other aspects of the game. Bounty hunter terminals would have to be changed back to the old system that gives name and level, and the maximum number of hunters per jedi would have to be increased. If jedi become stronger, and then start hanging out with each other again, then we're going to need the ultimate team and tactics to win. To win the fight, you'd most likely need two hunters for every jedi there, not to mention medics. I'm not trying to harp only on jedi here, but your post is mainly focused onthem so they need to be adressed. Again, thanks for trying.

If the definition of "hard to attain" is wait 3 weeks for the next village phase, then no. No you shouldn't be able to kill 3 or 4 opponents.
I'm pretty sure you don't understand what a jedi is all about in the context of this game. If your vision was made substance then the only means of playing this game with any means of living in the GCW would be to embrace the proffession as the onlyavenue to compete.
Your vision is fine if observed from my couch or a movie theater seat. We, as players of standard proffessions, are not fodder for you to be ground through 4 at a time- trying to run around and shoot you in the back for 250 damage or not.
