Not whining about the "one that got away", because it was a fun fight... two of 'em actually actually... but I was a bit surprised by the finale.
I'd chased a CL 80 padwan (dunno his template or what his payout woulda been) from Lok to the Rebel station on Rori. We did the dance for awhile and he eventually legged it to one of the rebel bases in the area. I'm on leave, so I wasn't too worried about the rebs and followed him right into the courtyard where he was trying to regen Force. When the rebs didn't spring into action to defend him, he ran INTO the base... while under TEF. I couldn't follow of course... even my bomb droid was locked out. =(
Kinda lame end to a nice fight.

Eh, I'd say he did well. If you were locked out and couldnt avoid from being locked out, then ok, but you were on leave and thems the breaks dude.

Anyway... I was surprised that the TEF didn't lock him out or eject himas I thought it was supposed to.
I think he was surprised too...
I don't recall reading any mention of faction bases being excluded from the BH TEF code.

why would tef lock you out of a factional base? thats what they are for, fighting- they are not a private structure they are a military structure. But in the end it was probably better that you couldnt get in because fighting in those close quarters would have taken away your ability to kite.

Because factional bases cannot be set to privacy. You can enter as long as you either are combatant for PvE bases or SF for PvP bases.

I guess I was "mis-remembering" the wording of the BH TEF changes... it says that it'll eject both parties from a PLAYER structure. I was remembering it as PUBLIC structure. /shrug I guess that even tho' they're set down by players, they don't count as a player structure.
And I supposeyou can't really pull one out of your pocket at a moments notice.
No worries.
(And as to why a tef would lock you out of a factional base... it wouldn't. But a BH tef overrides normal tef's... so I was a bit surprised. Now I know.)
... and here I was, trying to avoid hunting my own faction's Jedi.

Ah! A cup of coffee later and I just realized what he was doing hanging around in the courtyard. He was waiting for his Reb combatant status to kick in.
Hey, it was late. ![]()

Well... this seems to be the new thing... at least on my server. The Jedi are grinding near faction bases and ducking inside when teh 33vi1 bounty hunter comes by. BH TEF doesn't prevent 'em from entering the structure, and they know that with the changes on the terms, most of the hunters that come after 'em will be neutral or opposing faction.
I just have a hard time thinking this is 'working as intended', as the only way to counter this is to only hunt same faction Jedi.
Just... a little frustrating to lose a mark that way two nights in a row.

You can always hunt as combatant and clear the NPCs before engaging the Jedi inside. Most of the bases you see will be PvE Forward Outposts with NPCs around level 20.
