I tried testing on the test center but couldn't see if it did anything.
Is suppose to give us better defenc?
I'm a jedi knightwith a MBH alt, the only thing duelist stance won't defend against is saber throw and force powers.

+150 defense (damage reduction)
and if the attack is a ranged attack some of the damage can be sent back to the attacker
when this happens you will see +return fire+ over your head
I hope this helps

By design, it raises defense (+150 @ master I think) and reflects some of the ranged attacks back at the attacker.
There's some speculation on whether it works or not. According to some people, the defense works, but the reflection doesn't. I think Tanks is still of the oppinion that it's broked.

I would like to have some more info on this but I DO think it works.
Basically, when I get into a scrap I hit it- the yellow bar goes across (warm-up) and then I keep fighting. I FEEL like I am taking less damage but I don't know about reflecting it back on my target.
I wonder if I have to be close to them? On TC I REALLY thought it worked when I got face to face with this Dark Trooper. /shrug. Can't hurt to use it anyway, right?

i used it in a duel against a jedi who was force choking me only did 90-100 dmg, but dont know if it went back at him. so i think it does work, anyone know the duration?

Duelist Stance only reflects ranged attacks, not force attacks or saber throw.

Click on it before starting combat (if you can) then watch the combat channel, 50-30% of ranged damage, (npc or creature) it treated as return fire.
Which is rather chintzy if we are supposedly using our equiped weapon.
You also take about half the damage from ranged attacks as well. Against single mobs it helps a lot, against a horde, well /burstrun still works..

It does raise your defense and helps to lower damage taken. CL 78 Tortons were hitting me for 120ish without it and only 90ish with it active.

You sure about that? My testing shows that, like new CoB, your defense is increased which lowers the damage you take by about 20-30%, but there is distinctly a line that says, every time you get hit "(you) reflect your opponent's attack for 25 damage" or something like that . . . basically, it's bleed level damage and +20% armor for the duration . . . breaks the warm-up if you're moving though, so it's not really macro-able.

Also on the macro note the ui commandof improved duelist stance in the description is not recognized though the normal one is.
