Thread: MPistols/MBH (no CM here) Strats.
I also have 0003 rifleman for the heavy lightning cannon (had 0003 squadleader last week), and thinking of dropping those boxes for 0040 medic, 0020 will in no way help me past publish 21.

With pistols you can last a long time if you have the right equipment, I don't have CM either and I use quickdraw/critical repeatively when the mark is KD'd, other than that I intimidate, eyeshot, warningshot, torso then ranged/quickdraw/crit and I even have kneecap from novice rifleman which can help when kiting to heal up. Although I last a long time in many fights, the length of the fights is getting tiresom, shortest fight I've had so far against a full temp or a high level Jedi was around 6 minutes and the longest was shy of an hour vs a full template running aura and valor but he wasn't able to deal enough damage on me either.

For the extra speed.
Intim and Stun are worthwhile states to keep stuck, if you can land them fairly effectively.....they reduce damage by 25% and 10% respectively
You really should go with CM for the rest of your points.....pistoleer doesnt have the offensive power of carbineer or rifleman, its centered more on strategy and states, and since you'll be within saber throw range, the overriding philosophy changes from kill em quick to outthink and outlast them....CM 4000 will help keep you healed up and alive, though you'll need all your wits as well as good hunting EQ, good stims and bacta enhancers, good foods, and you'll probably want to make use of all the tools at your disposal including bomb droids, which of course can be called during combat if you use them from deed form. Root/kd/bomb can keep their health pinned down nicely.
Ultimately, you just have to last till their force runs out, and hope they dont try to forcerun or cloak and regen ![]()
NonCH pets might become valuable in the future as a means to stick defense breaks or snares for your template, too

Canape can be as high as +450 bonus health with +200 mind regen but for long term (PVE, 45-55 minutes) spiced tea + blob candy + bofa treat works. Also consider Air cake or Pikata pie, helps the chances of misses, especially when running duelist stance. Vegaparsine & Thundercloud don't seem to really help right now.

You have to unequip and re-equip your weapon for these to kick in

Booster Blue is better for healer because of the mind.... and if you rely on health regen then u've already lost the fight!
Vegeparsine i think is still bugged, but ive heard that if u unequip your weapon then reequip, it will work. Can anyone confirm this?
Otherwise, i generally go the spiced tea, kinali wafer, blob candy method cause its cheap and they last a while... you can eat one once u get ur mission and be empty by the time you reach ur mark!
I am also unsure how effective pikatta pie is... ive heard it works well for ppl with lots of defenses (e.g. jedi with aura running).

Question with regards to this....
Please define 'offensive power' of carbineer or rifleman. Are you referring to the special attacks being more damaging? Or....is there some combination of skill points or what not at Master Carbs that just causes it to do more damage.
The reason I ask...is because if I do the math and look at the skill point numbers and special attacks...
If you mix MBH/MP with Carbs 0400 and then fight witha carb instead of a pistol, unless I'm missing something you seem to end up WAY stronger than a straight MBH/Master Carbs.
Why?
If you run the numbers...
-You get outstanding accuracy...even when you are holding a carbine instead of a pistol because you have the General Accuracy line from carbineer in addition to all the Pistol general accuracy.
-You're melee defense and ranged defense suffers
-Specials (All using a nice carbine at 50 meters):
Advanced critical shot and Improved Leg shot to cycle damage
Advanced Stopping Shot for the 20 second root
Improved Cripple Shot for the snare
MBH Underhand shot handles the KD's just fine
MBH Spray shot for Cone attack
Intimidate Shot to take 20% less damage
Warning Shot to drop their defense and do more damage
Disarming Shot to buy yourself 5 seconds of 'peace' to heal a bit
Burst Shot is a pistoleer 'cone' attack, but for me, it seems to 'stick' its Stun almost all the time
On the other hand....if I look at MBH/MCarbs...it seems very redundant to me. Perhaps I'm missing something and if I am...I'm hoping to learn that because I might prefer to be MBH/Mcarbs.
So if the 'offensive power' means that Mcarbs simply hit harder....that is what I'd like to know.
Specials-wise though its seems real redundant. When I look at the Mcarbs skill tree and compare it to the BH specials...
You don't seem to get much 'return' on your investment. You get a KD which you already have (Although the carbs KD does more damage...but then again...you'll only use it against a single target every 30 seconds). You get a GREAT snare (Crippling Shot) which is very useful...but you can get that by just picking up one line. You get a GREAT damage shot....Improved Leg shot...but you can get that with the same line you grabbed to get Crippling Shot. Not only that, but the line you pickup to get that snare and that damage shot also is the general accuracy line. The Cone attacks seem redundant with Spray Shot. i believe they are 1.5x damage and so is Spray Shot...so you can just use spray shot with a carbine. The specials you get at the master carbs box seem redundant with what you already have and not 'worthy' of a master box.....as you're using Advanced Critical Shot and Improved Leg Shot.....so I'm guessing Advanced Rapid Fire isn't that handy. I'm also guessing that the suppression fire specials from carbineer...as they have to be spammed...aren't that handy either.
So what I'm trying to figure out is what you DO get from Carbs that you can't get from Master Pistoleer with just the ONE line of carbs?
Anyone?
