Thread: I am OK with Pub 20, except for . . .

So, after playing for a bit under the infamous Publish 20, I am ok with almost all of the chnges.
Now, I am not saying that I am ok with the bugs that came out, too, such as the offline Jedi on the terms!
I really have only one big issue witht he publish, and that is the time limit imposed on my hunt. I am currently hunting, no, I should say stalking, a very good advisary. I know hiom well as a player, but did not know that he had become a Jedi.I took an entire day's playing time to study his movements and figure out where to catch him. Now my job is too wait for that very opportune time to strike. Will it be in the next 48 hours? I don't know. Our two playing schedules might not match up!
Give us six days, and if after that we have not been able to take down the mark, pull the mission!
Even I, a Jedi player, feel that three RL calendar days is too short, especially for casual gamers. It might take those three days just to do the "pattern study" you're talking about.
Perhapsa better solution would be allowing acertain number of "play sessions," e.g., six as you suggested, instead of RL calendar days, before the mission is auto-failed.
/agree
It really should be a bit longer and based on something other than days, because most people aren't necessarily on enough in three days to catch their mark.

I agree that 3 days is a little restrictive to those that actually want to study their prey. but play sessions is really no better... you could go through 6 play sessions in less than 3 days easily, especially if you are a casual gamer with only short blocks of time you have available to play.
I totally agree... besides... what if you for some reason have a problem with your connection? I have friends that have loged in and out 7 times in a matter of 30 min due to their service provider. The calander days would be much better.
So, to help prove my point, I am coming up against 72 hours this afternoon. I know my mark, I know his patterns. I know where to get him. I even figured out who his alt is!
Yesterday, he played his alt the entire day, and then when he finally played his Jedi, he pretty much sat in a building, at least, that is all I saw him do until I had to log out.
Today I have to go to work, and I will have to do RL stuff. My mission will expire. In the big picture, I am sure that this one mission will not matter at all to SOE. In my world, hunting this Jedi and eventually engaging him (and hopefully collecting the reward!) would have been a high point in my BH career. He is, in my opinion, a formidable opponent, and formerly one of the most feared BHs on my server . . .If I succeeded on this mission, I would have known that I went up against someone who really knew how to play the game.
Im my time as BH ive killed over 150 targets and the longest ive ever waited is about 1,5 hours if it was someone i REALLY wanted dead.
I grab a missin, follow to droid and if the target is attackable i charge in (almost every time if possible). There can be situations where i wait for his speed buff to drop or for him to get out of a house but following targets around for days is just insane to me. Im sure "if" you get the jedi killed and get the pay out the creds per hour will be close to nothing.
So i couldn't care less about the mission lenghts. 1 day would be more than enough for me
