Thread: ehh, anyone ever solo'd an ancient bull rancor?
True enough ^
It's all a matter of staying outa there range. Never tried a Rancor either, but Krayt's aren't to bad. I usually hit them with a sniper shot then follow up with KD, I get up and start movin... snare, bleed, crit....repeat. Takes awhile, but works.
It's easy to solo anything below CL 90.
Melee : Tank and kill, they can absorb enough damageso long as they have enough healing power.
Ranged: As people have said, the trick is don't let it hit you. Root/Snare/Mez ect.. All put there toenable Ranged to defeat things without having to tank it.

Level 83 mobs are not hard at all, even with 32k health. I can fire once a second with my BH/Rifleman, one snare and it's pretty much over.
yeah I agree they do more damage but as you stated it doesn't matter. if I can hit him with a snare from 75m away by the time he catches up to me it's game over for him

I didnt try to do the math yet but IMHO elite-mobs dont follow the same rules "mission-critter" do. An Ancient-Bull-Rancor does way more damage as lvl83 than a lvl82 bol for example. I think thats why they have this elite-status. Because they have higher health and base-damage than the lvl would make you think.
But you are right with not hard at all. With a proper terrain, root and snare you can solo pretty much everything. Unless your target has the same/better range
One word of caution about the rancors... they have an AoE attack that disables vehicles in one shot. So, even if you aren't fighting one... don'tride near one that is in combat. You'll be on foot presently if you do.
They can be solo'd as stated above, but I'm not seeing where they are worth the effort now... as compared to krayt and gorax, their loots aren't really in high demand... unless that has changed recently.
