Thread: Player Bounty Idea
Ok you will have to forgive me if this doesn't completly make sense. I'm kind of tired at the moment but wanted to get this out before I completly lose what I'm thinking.
Bounty Hunters Guild
- 10Master Bounty Hunters make up the Guild Council.
- Bounty Hunter GuildStanding points would determine who will hold a seat on the Council.
First GuildStanding points would be awarded on succesfully completing a Bounty. The amount of points awarded would vary depeding on how many times you were killed trying to take out your mark. If you died once you are awarded nothing if you die twice you take a loss in points. Against PC marks you lose GuildStanding points if you fail your mission. You will be rewarded far less points for NPC Bounties then PC Bounties.
The10 Master Bounty Hunters on a server with the most Guild Standing will be offered a seat on the Council. If there are not 7 Master Bounty Hunters on the server the open seats remain open until they can be filled. Seats will be held for one month at a time.
PC Bounties will be placed at Bounty Hunter mission terminals. Minimum cost for a Bounty would be no less then 100k. When the Bounties are placed the individual placing the Bounty must explain the reason for placing the Bounty. It is then in the Guild Councils hands. They review what Bounties have been placed when they have the time to. They either vote for approval of the Bounty or reject it. There has to be a 70% approval for a Bounty to go live. If the Bounty is rejected the individual who places the Bounty recieves their credits back along with a defualt email saying their Bounty failed to meet Guild approval.
The Development team will recieve a list of all approved Bounties and which Council members voted which way. The Development teams retains the right to ban any Bounty Hunter from the Council if they feel any member of the Council is promoting griefing.
Now I am sure you all can find a ton of flaws with the system. I have always seen the point of this game to get the players involved in the world around us. There should also be the default mission terminals that can result in Bounties being placed if a mission is failed. This system would urge people to make it to Master Bounty Hunter so that they could have a seat on the Council.
Also something I would like to see is a difference in the two types of PC Bounties. The PC Bounties that would come from failed mission terminal missions should pay a max of 10k and the Bounty Hunter is not required to be a part of the Guild to take part in them. All Guild PC Bounties though would require membership in the guild. Which would make it so you couldn't be aligned with any faction other then the Guild. The benefit would be the missions would pay more, but you couldn't take part in the GCW.
I feel that PC Bounties should also incure a penelty. Perhaps making it so that when a Mark is actually killed they take wounds no matter if they cloned or not. I would say more then average wounds. To make it fair to all sides the same would apply to the Bounty Hunter but he would take crippling wounds if he failed 75% his HAM bars. We shouldn't want to fail but if we do it should hurt us.
Everything up here is just an idea I was brainstorming on.Let me know what you think. What you would change or add. WhenI wake up in the morning I'll hopefully be thinking a lot more clearly.
This is my idea of a good Player BH mission. Now, if we can all agree on this (or a spin off that the masses agree with) then we should start posting ideas on how to exploit it with a possible fix for that. The ONLY reason these aren't in game is because they were exploitable, so I think if we come up with ideas on how to fix the exploiting of these missions, they will add them (not soon, but they will).

Addition of Player Bounties.
a) The person you are putting a Bounty on has to be someone of the opposing faction. A person can only get a Bounty placed on them once a week to keep Bounties as being Griefing tools. The only reason why I think Neutral people should not be able to put bounties on people is because of the fact that they are neutral for a reason. They don't want to PvP, so they shouldn't be able to have someone else PvP for them.
b) You can only put a Bounty on someone at your Faction Recruiter, or add a seperate Faction NPC to be a Bounty taker. The BH has to get the mission for a new BH Guild NPC. This keeps the BH's the want to be Neutral able to do the missions, just not put Bounties on people.
c) The BH that is taking the mission does not know the name of the person he's taking the mission on until after he hits accept, but he does know the faction affiliation of the PC (Just because I don't want to go kill fellow rebels, I want to go kill Imps). He now cannot accept any more Missions, be it a regular mission, BH Mission,or aFaction mission until the mission is complete.
d) It will cost 25k to put a Bounty on someone, and the BH will only get 10k. This is another money sink that would be added to the game, but the Faction has to be paid somehow ![]()
e) Master Bounty Hunters are the only ones that get these missions.
f) You will have to do your own searching for these people. This will let you have your own Informants, if you will.
g) The person you are hunting does not know your name, but he will see you as a Red Dot on his Radar, you will only see him as a Blue dot, but targetable. Also, the person that you are looking for is automatically put on your /ignore list, and you are automatically put on his (this would not show up on /ignore, but would only go away after you have killed said PC and gotten your reward).
Bad or Good, I'll read all the posts and try and keep commenting. I'm open to ideas, so please don't flame me or anyone else for their ideas, however stupid they may seem.

Why do people keep posting ideas for player bounties? It's not gonnahappen until at least after the Space Expansion. Months...Why bother continuing to post on it, it's a lost cause.
because it not only takes our minds off of the fact that EVERYTHING that has to do with the BH is a lost cause, but why not start thinking about it now.
Anyways I think the idea of not knowing the persons name can be a great anti-exploit. Another thing is the Bounty Hunter cannot abort his mission for an hour, so to stop people from getting missions till they get the one they want.
Oi! My BH-character doesn't care about anyones war...He wants money...-That- simple...Why do everybody keep talking about factions...? As Bounty hunters you shouldn't really care -who- you kill...As long as you get paid for it...
Oh...Yes, guilty...I tend to RP...And if any changes is made to the game, I hope they keep the RP community in mind...
