This is not a flame, but let me state a few things...

  1. I don't see descriptions of any of those abilities, so how do you expect people to comment on them?
  2. I don't see anything I would call an SL ability in there.. no group bonuses or abilities...
  3. I think you'll find that most Squad Leaders just want our existing class Fixed... not more dev time taken away for new unnecessary stuff..

I find this funny - suggesting a new profession at the same time some members of the populations are talking merging classes to more focus dev effort. I personally feel mandolarians in game is even more out of step then multiple Jedi. The Mandos were wiped out.. even the DW is not mandolorian. We have no need for Elite Alpha classes.

If you really want to add an elite layer you could put it at the master box and have skills that unlock as time progresses so if you are a 6month vet of a profession you get better modifiers, 12 months a new skill, 24 months better mods again, 48 months a new skill.

I think the armor crafting should be changed to armor repair and maintenance that gives a Mandalorian an improved chance of repairing his armor. It would also be neat to include a weapon reapair and maintenance branch in that tree. As for KD's there are a lot of KD's already out there and most seem to stick pretty well so an Advanced one seems a bit silly, since the improved one would probably stick just as well. I'd rather have a root in there somewhere. Also, what kind of weapon certs would there be? BTW I love how every ranged weapon type is included in the ranged weapon branch. In my opinion Mandalorian should be all about offense and not so much defense. I don't want to Avoid Incap Tank things like a *spit* Jedi FTOM. I'd rather take down a CL80 mob in three to four shots or state him completely in three shots. That way we're not Jedi clones and once you get close our Melee defense isn't insane. Hm...I just described what I've always wanted Commando to be /cry

No man, Im totally against this Mandalorian alpha-class.

We already have a sea of "everybody-wanna-be-Jedi" players, and now I see all bounty hunters trying to usurp the title of Mandalore or become Mandalorians when the Mandalorians were clearly close to extinct since the Clone Wars. Why? Coseveryone think Mandalorians are "cool".

And why do so many of you associate Mandalorians with Bounty Hunter? Just cos of the Fett family?

Some are self explainatory. Turel knows them all. But if you want the effect, look at the jedi parallel.

I don't see anything I would call an SL ability in there.. no group bonuses or abilities...

So suggest some additions. The Mandalorian Society would have collapsed w/o SL's

Trust me, so do Commandos. But still, this is a good idea. If you hate it so much, ill remove it here. I just thought SL's would be more spirited through their nerfage, like Commando.

Very few people truly know about Mandalorains. me and turel were also hesitant for the fact that those afk n00b jedi grinders would become Mandalorians and ruin the name.

Also, we figured if this ever did go through, we would do our best to make sure becoming a mandalorian was so horridly challenging and annoying to get, no one would do it but those who are REALLY into it. I'd do about anything to be able to be officially a Mandalorian. Make it so you need to get 100+ badges, including all the kill badges. Make it so you need to have a full suit of Mandalorian Armor, Or a jetpack. Something. It needs to be so damn rare, that it would only be for those who truly want it.

Jedi used to be just like what you stated. An alpha-class that is hard to unlock and rare. And look at the Jedi now. My grandma could be a Jedi if she spent as much time playing SWG than gardening.

Truly saying, this Mandalorian idea will be a disaster but it MIGHT happen if SWG sees a niche to establishing more profits from wannabe Mandalorians. Either way, it's terrible with the fact that there is an easy to obtain alpha-class already and now you guys want a second (???) alpha-class. No matter what happens, Jedi willalways bethe center of attraction and still whoop the majority of the so-called Mandalorians. There will be more cries for nerfs on each other.

It is unfair to think only Bounty Hunters are Mandalorians. If this Mandalorian crap really does happen in SWG, I think the majority of the combatant classes should be allowed to pursue it, not just BHs. A smuggler, TKM, pikeman, or even shipwright could be a Mandalorian.

"Mandalorian" is a culture, not a class.

An elite alpha class? They havent even got the normal classes working right.

In a time where they continue to lower the level of jedi down to a more normal template, they arent going to put in an alpha elite class. Its unbalancing to the game if nothing else.

Fight fire with fire. And a trained Mandalorian can destroy a jedi anyday.

They could take your mandaloreian class idea and simmer it down to a set of armor or the existing mandalorian armor. Each peice of armor granting one of the abilities listed, only when the peice of armor is equiped. Make it craftable but the streingth of the abilities depending on the quality of the armor. Creating a new class to unbalance however would just cause chaos.

Other then the fact that that does not go along with ANYTHING the mandalorians are, good idea. But the fact is, Mandalorians NEVER rely on something. Reliance is a weakness. Which is why Jedi are weak. They rely on the force.

If you do that for armor, it makes you rely on the armor for your strengths. It would work for some other race, but not for Mandalorians. The armor doesnt make the mandalorian.

And there is no Mandalorian race in SWG...so that's that then.
