An exploit is when you take advantage of a bug. The /duel/endduel thing is not a bug, it's how they designed it. They programmed it with the intent of giving the /duel'er a message that they cannot duel because the other person can attack them.
Working as intended.

Don't you love it how everyone refers to things they don't like as an exploit? You can blame this one however on the Bh's who WERE useing an exploit on the /duel to prevent the Jedi from attacking....
So what? now it's pay back time? wth. ( Blame yourselves for this not everyone else. Funny how you all complain when it's being done to you but it is ok for you all to do it to others.)
And this /duel /endduel crap is NOT working as intended.(Actually it is.) I mean, if the devs wanted the jedi to know if someone as a mission on them, why not create a /check command or something?( Whywhen you can /duel?)You know, a command where you can't freakin' bug ppl with spam. That's nonsense, and you're a moron( I am a moron lol? Now you are calling people names like a grade school kid. How can people take you seriously when you act like a child?)

And this /duel /endduel crap is NOT working as intended.(Actually it is.) err, no... let's put it that way; Jedi: '' ok, so if I want to know if that guy there as a mission on me, what should be the command?... oh yeah, /duel, that's pretty obvious, great name for a command that tells me if this guy as a mission on me. Good job Dev! I mean, if the devs wanted the jedi to know if someone as a mission on them, why not create a /check command or something?( Whywhen you can /duel?)Cuz /duel is supossed to do just that... duel. Again, let's put it this way: Some Guy: ''what's the command to mount my bike? Jedi:'' easy, /duel. You know, a command where you can't freakin' bug ppl with spam. That's nonsense, and you're a moron( I am a moron lol? Now you are calling people names like a grade school kid. How can people take you seriously when you act like a child?) Aaah, you know, I'm trying to stay polite with mentally challenged ppl.
There is no "help" in a BH Vs Jedi encounter it is strictly one on one.

Uhm - bad idea since some people are dueling friends or group members to pass time while waiting for an attack (dont ask me for the reasoning behind it, but I have seen it). Not being able to /endduel a friend at any time when real threats emerge and therefore not being able to get help from him through healing / buffing / whatever is not a good design.
Is there a way and I should probably post a new thread about it, but
CAN WE STOP GENERALIZING?? What I mean, many of us Jedi do not use exploits. We didnt use grenades to do our fs grind. Heck, I didnt even use respec (I did respec once to MLS just so I could craft me the best saber I could, but I respec'd back 12hrs later), 2x xp to help me gain more and more, and I have never grinded on kashyyyk to avoid being hunted. Before pub20, I rarely grouped up to get xp. I unlocked my Jedi in March '05. I am not quite done with my template yet. Maybe that is my stupidity.

The proposed changes I was responding to would affect the /duel command across the board. I was referring to GCW.

When I escape a bh and launch into space, usually the first thing I get is "meet you on kashyyyk". THAT has just generalized me as an exploiter.
I am sure that this is the same thing for BH's. Cant we come up with a different term so that we are not generalizing each other??
Oh we did. Respec BH, and Noob Jedi. Unfortunately, everyone has used these terms to "generalize" everyone into one or the other. I know the BH's that are children, you know, the ones that have no idea how to "hunt", and just want the jedi they are hunting to lay down and die peacefully. But they really are few and far between. The same can be said for Jedi. Yes, I use any skill that I have, to kill / escape a bounty hunter. But I atleast try to give a fight. I have never used an exploit to get my job done, because I feel that I can kill / escape ANY bounty hunter that comes for me. WITH THE SKILLS I AM GIVEN.
Basically, all I am saying is I dont generalize all bounty hunters as respec noobs, and I wish that everyone else that plays this game can stop generalizing as well. I know its like wishing for world peace (something that will never happen), but its my wish.

I am sorry that you feel that I HAVE TO DIE if you I cant kill you first. THAT is the general attitude of ALOT of people.
YOUR job is to kill me any way that you can. MY job is to stay alive any way that I can. IF you can kill me, then so be it. Good fight. IF I am able to survive, then so be it. I DID MY JOB AND YOU DID NOT. The only difference, I do NOT get paid to do MY job.
Yes but I don't get paid when you run.

So basically, you want me to die so that you can be paid. I can understand that. Of course first, I would ask you to understand that I have a job too and it DOESNT include dying. I truly believe that I have nothing to fear if I choose to run from a fight, instead of dying when I know that its going to happen. Even if there was no xp loss, I still dont think I would stand there and die just so you can get your money. You have to out think me, you must get me while I am most vulnerable. NOWHERE does it say that I MUST die in order to make the bounty hunter happy.
I want to keep the BH / Jedi relationship. I knew that I would be hunted. You MUST know that a jedi is not going to just stand there and die if he has the opportunity to survive. Calling me dishonorable because I choose to escape is ludicrous. Why would a Dark Jedi care if he is honorable or not? Just like Bounty Hunters......are they inherently honorable? No. They ARE the scum of the worlds (not personally).
Why is it that whena Jedi escapes a battle, that he is not honorable, but when a Bounty Hunter kills a Jedi while in the midst of a bunch of Mobs, the bounty hunter is praised?? BTW, I honostly believe that both of these examples are perfect tactics. They show that both professions know what the other profession is all about.
Final thought. A Bounty Hunter that has had their mark run away from them should take it not as a dishonorable act, but more of a praise, and a respect to that Bounty Hunter. The Jedi ran for a reason. That reason is, he couldnt beat you.

Was on my MD/MC toon on Ahazi the other day walked into a cantina no armor holding my carbine and a jedi was standing just inside the door next thing I know I get /duel /endduel exploit! I laughed at the jedi and walked on into the cantina and passed another jedi where I get yet another /duel /endduel!
Then on my MBH toon on Chilastra I shuttle into Kraytia to hunt non loot dropping Krayts and I get 3 jedi doing the duel exploit and asking me who Im after and start buffing themselves and /offerride /offertrade again I wasnt in armor yet and had no weapon in hand nor was I hunting jedi....anyone else running into this silliness?

Because he speaks the truth and your'e age shows in the fact that you will throw the duel challenge out and immediately cancel it. It is obvious that something on your person needs to drop, do not worry all little boys go through it. I am so in favor of the /endduel being silently removed for a couple days to teach you about working as intended.
The point of the matter is this:
The Jedi should NOT know if someone has them as a mark or not. Using something to determine this before combat is initiated IS exploiting a flaw in the game's design.
You can argue all you want but it just makes you look like an idiot.
