I'd Say Master Defender is neccesary first off. and the 2 in healing isn't a must. other than that. looks good
why MD over 4440?
because u get an extra defences and valor is great also with m def isntead u get a higher force total
I will very rarely use valor due to it decreasing your own damage output. I'm only going to have one mastery, so if I don't do MD, i'll be master of something else, so the extra force agrument doesn't work for me.

im M. def/ ls 0404/ enhancer 3004/ healer 4200.........this template owns.
ive been switching healer from x2xx to xx2x and really like both, healing wounds and extingish vs force sap, i like em both, sap is really good in pvp, but healing wounds is nice since no1 has docs anymore.

Renn, how does your template do against another jedi that has master defender?
I'm wondering whether the lack of master saber works against you in that situation.
Thanks

Hi, I'm reasonably new and just started the Village. In preparation for my Jedi Template I am currently Rifleman / BH. However, since Jedi are mainly melee is there an advantage to haveing my template change before my exit quest to something that augments in Melee. i.e. Swordsman/Fencer ?? and do these Melee + skill mods affect Jedi's accuracy & damage ?
Thanks

I'm very close to unlocking, and I currently am taking a M.Doctor/M.TKA template for the high CL, and for +Melee Accuracy and +Melee Speed. TKA Gives +20 (or 25?) general melee speed, and i think something around 80 general melee accuracy. It would effect how you perform with your saber. As for doctor, it can get you out of a pinch and you'll always have self buffs, cures, heals, etc. (For early on when you dont have healer). It also allows you to tank like a beast, which is for when a BH comes at you, you can survive it for a little while til you find your means of escape, or decide to fight it out. ^^
Hope this helps.

Any general melee speed/melee accuracy bonuses from your other skills will apply to your Jedi, since lightsabers are a melee weapon. Also, if you go TKA, then you'll get that nice innate defense bonus which will help your defense a good bit (at least until Jedi innate armor replaces it). Having Doctor/CM will give you an innate ability to heal yourself, which I find extremely valuable personally.
So yes, there would be an advantage to change your template, but I personally don't think it's all that important. As a low level pady, you won't stand much of a chance against a BH anyway since they can outdamage you and outheal you. By the time you'll be able to stand toe to toe with a BH, you will have already dropped a lot of your non-Jedi skills anyway.
I think it's much more important to have a template you enjoy playing while you're grinding FS, because it will help make the grind more bearable. So go with a template that fits your personal playstyle. If you want to change templates right before your exit quest, go for it (but only if you regrind it - I wouldn't advise usingyour token respec for it if you have it still).
