Thread: WE WANT PLAYER BOUNTIES!!!!!
How about there are no restrictions on who the bounty is placed on, and it gaves name, and whether o not person is Jedi.but the droid comes back with info like proffession, CL, planet, location. And MBHs get stuff like a cloak-like move, and Jet Pack/w good set of Mandalorian armor. Oh, and an UBER DE-10.
Cause, the devs have essentially given their Jedi a whole mess of stuff, and we get short end of stick. I'm just talking from veteran's side. I've seen the movies, read the books, and yet, I discover that MBHs are still nerfed. Jedi aren't supposed to cut us down that easily.
This may sound corny.....
BH's DO IT FOR THE MONEY
WE GET MONEY. OTHER PEOPLE GET KILLED.
WE WIN.
I'm sure you heard this quite, quite, often

Wrong, i dont do it for the money
i do it for the fun
and a smuggler, is just not fun to kill
My thoughts on the issue, read main post for more details on the idea.

I have had this idea for a while and here is my spin on it:
1. Instead of the terminals coming up with the bounties for normal people or smugglers or whatever, let players post the bounties at the terminals and put up the money for the bounties themselves. Still make it so that master bounty hunters are the only ones who can collect on the bounties and make it so that BHs can't place the bounties they can only collect on them.
[DENIED] Heres why, you have to remember how SOE deals with complicated stuff and how "friendly" our SWG community is. More player involvement would include more exploits and more bugs. Keep it simple and make the game itself generate bounties for anyone who kills more than 20 NPCs inside of a town.
2. Make xp loss for everyone, not just the Jedi or the hunted. That way who ever loses the battle, either BH or Mark, will suffer the xp loss. I think this will make the stakes a bit higher for all involved.
[DENIED] I strongly disagree here and this is why, XP loss would affect the game harshly and would remove the only disadvantage jedis have in combat. PvP would become alot rarer in general because many people don't want to loose XP and alot of people in PvP just get ganked repetetively. PvP is considered something to do once their template is done. People would die in PvP and give up, they wouldn't risk an outnumbered fight. For CL80 how would XP loss work? What happens when they don't have anymore XP to loose? Loose skills?
3. Make a minimum and maximum amount for bounty posting based on the level of the mark and charge a 5%, 10% or 20% fee to the terminal to list the bounty. Also, make the minimum level that the mark can be 54. So they have at least one master profession before they can have a hit put on them.
[DENIED] Heres why, I think if you can manage to kill atleast 20 NPCs in town, you can fight off a BH. However the BH should only be allowed to take missions on someone relatively close in level.
4. Have a timer on the marks so that they can only be put on the terminals once every 3 days or week or something... i think 3 days would be sufficient.
[AGREED] This would avoid people exploting and harrasing players repetetively.
5. Only one person can collect on the mark at a time. I.e. : whoever gets to the mark and kills him/her first gets the bounty and then the bounty is removed from the terminals.
[AGREED]
6. Optional "compliance" rule. I really don't like this rule, but it could be necessary to keep people happy. For all non jedi, when a person attempts to place a bounty on the BH terminal their mark gets a message that tells them that someone (not naming the name of the character placing the bounty) is placing a bounty on their head and asks if they wish to participate in this BH PVP event. Then they have the choice to accept or reject being involved. I think this is the best way to fill the SWG PVP compliance standard.
[DENIED] If you don't want to deal with a BH then don't kill NPCs in town. And if you think it's worth being put on the BH terminals over but don't want to PvP. Then when the BH shows up and he prompts you with the option (which would be a pop up interface like a trade window [read main post for details]) to either fight or pay the bounty money, simply pay him off, automatically making it so he drops the mission.
7. BHs are not allowed to place bounties,as mentioned before, however they are not except from them AND the optional compliance rule would NEVER apply to them. BH vs. BH sounds pretty fun to me.
[AGREED] If player placed bounties WERE the method for player bounties. This would make sense. Would be stupid for a BH to place a bounty then go after it himself. lol Seems pretty retarded to me. But then again, you could always get a friend to place a bounty for you :-/ Which is another reason not to have player bounties (like mentioned, too many chances for exploits)
8. Jedi cannot place bounties. Because of their secretive nature and wanting to keep hidden from the empire, signing their names to a bounty could place their ID in jeopardy. This, of course, wont stop jedi friends and alts from placing bounties.
[DENIED] Jedis should be allowed to place bounties just like other players. But again, friends can always place bounties for them if they aren't allowed to. Player placed bounties would cause too much conflict.
9. Place faction loss/gain on the BH terminals. I think this should be in place now. If you kill a mark from the same factions as your own I think you should lose faction. Likewise, if you kill a mark from an opposing faction you should gain faction.
[DENIED] A bounty hunters allegiance is to his contractor. Most bounty hunters are forced to be neautral because of this. However, me being an imperial BH, i don't hunt imperial jedis just because I feel it's wrong. But if I DID decide to hunt them, I don't think i should be penalized. A BH mission is a justified reason to kill a fellow imperial/rebel. BH missions shouldn't conflict with factional missions.
That is my take on the whole deal. Like i said I have had the idea for a while, and I have had no one say that they did like it. on the contrary, they wished it were in place.

[[[[[[[[[Ok, seriously, PLAYER BOUNTIES PLEASE. I can't believe this still hasn't been put in game, bounty hunters can only hunt jedis? What a joke. It's no suprise a bounty hunter versus a fully templated jedi is not fair. And it shouldn't be, jedis are powa rangas! But...they need something that IS fair, to keep us bounty hunters entertained while still participating in PvP. Bounty hunters go through a pain in the ass grind(or used to, i respeced my MBH, like a real pimp :-p)to be able to hunt jedis...."w00t! now i can get my ass whooped by fully templated jedis! /dance"
Yes, against jedis who arent templated, we stand a better chance, but I don't know about your servers, but on Valcyn, the few jedis who aren't fully temped, are on Kasshyyk.]]]]]]]]]

THE TEMPLATE FOR BUILDING AN ENJOYABLE PLAYER BOUNTY SYSTEM:
The idea:
Ok, first off, bounties would be generated by attacking more than 20 NPCs inside of a town. Killing other human controlled players inside of a town will NOT qualify to be on the terminalsbecause then after each PvP event the terminals would overflowlol. The payout would be based on the ammount of of NPCs killed ABOVE 20. Prices would range from 30-35k. Only one bounty hunter per mission and only one mission per bounty hunter. Would keep people from grinding away faction INSIDE of a town without consequences, instead of doing faction terminal missions or flying like it is MEANT to be.
The bounty itself:
Bounty hunter spots the perpetrator. Before he attacks, he must initiate an interface with the perp. The window would only be able to be initiated outside of combat to avoid exploits. The window will state the situation to the perp. Allowing him to pay the bounty price or fight the BH to the death(or first incap?). No group members of either the perp or the BH will be allowed to get involved. After one of the people involved dies. The mission is cleared.
Conclusion:
This would keep the game realistic, fun, and w/o any exploits. This would allow the bounty to be aware of the fight so it is fair for everyone.
What do you guys think?

doubt my post will kcock any sense into the devs but I support this 100% they really od need to put it in the game and it owukd be sooo easy....
i think the devs dont have player bounties in yet for two reasons
1 : SOE belives strongly in not forceing pvp on people so player bountis whould be a bit of a problem
and
2 : there are a lot of bigger issues in the game at this time so i cant blame the devs for not bothering with player bounties at this time maybe once they fix some of the toher game problems we will see player bounties
This is agreat idea !!!
If the devs wanted Jedi to get hunted a bit less, instead of removing mission payout off the terms they should have implemented this.
I wouldnt give the mark any even chances though, just keep the bh/mark tef and combat system we have.Have visibility also contributed to pvp score. And failed missions should get the bh on the term.
Man,this would make BH the best template for pvp and pve.

LMFAO!!! good one, "there are a lot of bigger issues in the game at this time so i cant blame the devs for not bothering with player bounties" ROFL!!! yeah, last thing i heard the devs fixing (and not breaking) was the thing where now u can deed your house with everything in it. lol They are busy adding content and fixing stuff that really arent main concerns to the player community. I think the devs need to spend time fixing all the bugs the game has and addingmore important stuff instead of working on making it so you can move your house around quicker. I really doubt people play this game to move houses around. But then again I could be wrong :-P.
OMG!!! Nerf the house moving!! Its overpowered!!! nerf it!!! :-P
