I agree there should be some visibilty control, but Saber TEF isn't going work any more. Back when Jedi were strong, it was fine, but now it's not going happen.

You go to grind in a group and you get killed by some group mate, or, someone finds you grinding and kills you, or you try and PvP only to get jumped by coverts of the opposite faction. Jedi just arn't strong enough for saber TEF in the old form to work any more.

That's exactly the point of Saber TEF.

IMO, there should be a Saber TEF, but first a kind of meaningul FRS has to be implemented to take the place of all the content the Saber TEF would f' over (GCW for one). I think most of the community would agree that jedi should be waging their underground war in the middle of nowhere on Yavin rather than alongside Stormtroopers in the Theed starport.

I know that's the point, but it's simply not balancing. I could see if it was only static cities, but if you get a TEF any time you use a saber, Jedi are gone from the GCW for the most part.

What's wrong with Jedi gone from the GCW?

I'll say it again: for Saber TEF to work some other kind of meaningful content would have to be implementedtake the place of the GCW. Like a good, underground FRS system for people to PvP in.

But I'll agree on the point that, if they implemented Saber TEF tomarrow, it just wouldn't work. Something has to balance out the content it would destroy.

Nah, make it take a year or more of 6-8 hours per day to make Padawan. Perma-death if you die to other players three times within a week -NPC deathsalways excluded.

Saber-tef might work in big cities, you flash your saber in Cnet and have the city on you. Outside major cities you no longer worry about it. Might work.

All iffy solutions...........

I'm making the assumption that most of the people that post in the Jedi threads are actually, in fact, Jedi... but to those who aren't....

Don't gripe about Jedi until you've tried being a Jedi.

I used to hate 'those glow-bat swinging mofo's'.... until I became one.

Everyone crying for population control and other such measures don't know exactly what they are asking for. While everyone thinks that the number of Jedi is killing the game, NOT having Jedi would finish it off.

Jedi is the 'end-game' for many players. Once you become a Jedi (once the Knight Trials and FRS are turned back on) whole other worlds of content are opened up to you. I enjoy playing my other toons who aren't Jedi, but playing as my main toon (a Jedi)has been the most enjoyable experience I've had in SWG since I started playing.

Would I give up my Jedi toon? IF... AND ONLY IF... SWG entered new character classes/prof's/species into the game, such as Mandalorians, the Emperor's Hand, Royal Imperial Guard, etc.,... But even then, I think Jedi have their place in this game. The movies were centered around Jedi, I would say it's only fitting that the game should be also.

Greddy, I elect you to be the first one to test out the new system for Jedi Population control.

1.) Login to your account.

2.) Go to your character selection screen.

3.) Select your Jedi

4.) Hit the delete button in the lower corner.

5.) When the confirmation screen comes up, simply type "delete <your jediname>" and then hit enter.

6.) Wait a few seconds while it processes these commands, and bingo your done.

Congratulations, you have taken the first steps towards controlling the Jedi population. Now if everyone else who posts these threadswould just follow your lead, eventually Jedi will become rare again.

Trying to control the jedi population now would be like trying to wipe your @ss after you already pulled up your pants.

No permadeath is needed. Jedi TEF.

I remember before i got the game i was reading an FAQ on the official site. they had a question to theaffect of "will there be jedi?" The answer was on the lines of " Jedi will be included but be extremely hard to get and be exceptionally rare."

YupI mean i never see ten jedi taking turns dueling eacho ther in front of the theed starport. I never get healed while walking throughMos Eisley by a "Glowy bat wielding forcewitch".

Ok i bet it is fun to be jedi but i saw a kid wh owas a padawan after 13 days of gameplay. In my opinion thats not very rare at all.

THey should reset the jedi and start from scratch or at least do something its pretty aggravating whensome little kid buys the game and starts asking me when he gets his lightsaber and then other people call every one "mundanes" and say why would you be anything but a jedi.

Ohh, you mean like the Devs promised us in Beta? NPC hunting of careless Force Wielders (I *refuse* to call most of them 'Jedi')?
I *guarantee* we'd see less glowstick users if Vader or a bunch of Inquisitors dropped in when the BH's failed a few times.

I think you'll see that as soon as they bring back permadeath.

Losing permadeath was the worst decision made by the Devs, second only to the damnable hologrind.
And I'm a player that's dedicated to helping FS users!

I know it's not going to happen, but like you said, they promised it (and many other things) in beta. One can dream though.
