I was MBH a year and a half before your board registration date, sunshine.
I was playing beta 4 months before your registration date sunshine. Whats your point?
Can I play too? Which shuttle of Beta?
My buddy played towards the end of phase 2 and he was allowed to invite someone to play on phase 3. I got to play on Apr 2 when phase 3 started.

Yah, I wasn't in the sooper special group. Early Phase 3. I posted mostly on BAT.

Just another thingy to throw towards the original post's analysis, here. More BH content is being planned for the game. This came from an interview that was published today from Julio Torres (SOE Dev). There is another post on this board with a link to the full interview...
SWG Vault: There isn't much Bounty Hunter storyline currently in Star Wars Galaxies. We have the Deathwatch Bunker and the newly added Clone Relics quest from Boba Fett. Will we ever see more content centered around the Bounty Hunters of Star Wars (such as a Bounty Hunters Guild themepark where a player is able to take missions from IG-88, Dengar, Bossk, and others)?
Julio Torres: Yes, there are Bounty Hunter events and quests that we will be adding to the game. Please stay tuned.

They've been telling all the professions that for almost 2 years now. How long did the smuggler revamp take?

And that still isn't here yet. SOE has proven "If it's not in code, it's not going to happen".

Hmm...last I checked its been 10 years since I was 18. Forum sign-up date doesnt mean diddly crap is MY point. All I'm saying is...who really cares?
Point noted. You were here in beta, making you the alpha-geek. Board registration date means nothing. Forget I said it. I was just trying to convey the fact that I am a BH as well, and just because I also have a Jedi doesn't negate that.
Can we let this go, now?

Nerf Alpha-geeks!
At any rate, The original premise is correct. There has been a marked decline in Jedi ability and it's only a matter of time before it's a 1.0 profession.

I believe it does....and if I had my wish...no BH could have a Jedi as it's alt.

That's not at all fair Tucheck.
"Ok, you worked your ass off/grinded umpteen professions/grinded 18 weeks killing stuff you didn't really want to be kiling but did it for the promise of Jedi and NOW you are not allowed to play the only other profession in the game with interesting content."
Not fair at all, and not a good business move if you care about making the customer happy.

I have a feeling a lot of strange things would be true if you had your wishes, Tucheck. I know a lot of strange things would be true if I had mine

How does a HUGH conflict of interest in the vocal community make for good business? As for what you did to become a Jedi.....sorry old friend....that is being shadowed and nullified as we speak....each and everyday. Do you really believe that the Jedi of today have "earned" the right to be as powerful as you? There was a BIG debate about this in the BH forums a while back, when we started seeing all the respecs. Elitest or not, I don't give a damn. These Jedi now don't deserve ANYTHING! Hell, I thank them when I see them grinding and exploiting, just look at the result. Maybe I should be thanking the Devs...lol. The point isn't about making fun of the "new guy"....not at all. This game NEEDS fresh blood, and more then that, it needs them to stick around longer then a month. This is about a new and improved "cheap ass" system that insults the players who really had to put in some effort to earn what they get. Of course I've never thought MBH truely received what it should to complete it's profession decription, but then again, that's the past, and matter not. I just find this new method insulting.
As for my vision (or wish list)....I think you would be surprised to see that I would make sure that NO one single BH could ever solo a Knight (it's just not SW). I would have NEVER told the path to Jedi, but I damn sure wouldn't have made it grinding out 4 professions in a particular order either. GTEFs and Saber TEFs would see a come back....as well as "Permadeath" (for 4 days)....with NO XP loss. And FRS...well, that would be based on tenure. The oldest Jedi on the server get the top rank....and on down. Every 2 months, challenges can be made and MUST be accepted within 2 weeks (if you can't log on to play in at least 2 weeks, then you just don't play enough to be on the council).
And so on, and so, on.....not too far off from where they started....but you now the saying, "Never look back".
But you can't hold all Jedi, past-present and future accountable for what a few Jedi did-that was completely within the rules.
As far as conflict of interest, sorry, there are some of us that look at things from BOTH sides.
Realistically everything you have cited only serves to strengthen knocking Jedi down to a 1.0 profession and removing Jedi missions from the terminals. Example: game NEEDS fresh blood, and more then that, it needs them to stick around longer then a month.
Many new players are starting SW:G for the first time high off watching Ep 3. One of the most oft-heard questions is "How do I get to be a Jedi?". Which do you think is more appealing for a player new to SW:G and likely a player new to MMOG's?
Scenario One
"Well, you first you have to do some running around to different places. And you have to master a profession. And you have to have to wait over 4 months, completing 6 more quests and grinding out 7450000 xp, which really works out to about mastering 30 or so professions. Then you get to start being a Jedi."
-So what happens then?
"Well, you have two choices. You can spend the next two years by your self trying to finish your template without any players or humanoids seeing you, or you can grind out exp with your friends and get attacked multiple times a day by 1-5 BH's, who are probably going to do the smart thing and wait till you're low on health and/or fighting a creature, and if you die you lose multiple hours of work, but that's a shorter path, only a few months at the outside."
-So is it worth it?
"Well, consider. You grind out enough exp for 67 professions, including both the Jedi grind and the force sensitive grind and you end up a theoretical 1.5 times as powerful as a normal profession."
Scenario Two
"Well, you first you have to do some running around to different places. And you have to master a profession. And you have to have to wait over 4 months, completing 6 more quests and grinding out 7450000 xp, which really works out to about mastering 30 or so professions. Then you get to start being a Jedi."
-So what happens then?
"Well, you get to hang out with your friends, kill creatures, run quests, the usual. You just get to do it as a Jedi instead of a regular profession."
-So is it worth it?
"Hrm....well, you have to work on your template alot longer than anyone else. And you only end up as powerful as the next guy who took a few days to do his. So, it'll take maybe a few months to do it."
I know if I was a new player which of the two scenarios I'd rather hear. So why don't I just give up and respec to fencer/swordsman/medic?
It's not a Jedi. So don't even bother asking that question.

this guy is just an angry jedi troll. he's more concerned with who's been playing longer. you know what that means? nothing, sothis clown hasbeen playing since Beta, no one really cares.I find it disturbing that he's seen the flaws since the begining and can't find it withinhimself to post fixes! sounds like the mark of a newb to me, or an idiot.

I read half of your post....and it dawned on me....
You had little to no problem being the ""alpha class", or "end game" content of SWG" for almost a year and a half now. Sure the Jedi profession has had issues, but it has also always been the strongest (fully templated, double Mastery) profession in the game.
Now that the population of Jedi is forcing....YES forcing, them to be "brought in line" with the rest of the player base, you act as though it's the end of the world because YOU don't consider yourself to "be the best".
All I have to say is this...
You know the saying, "If it was easy, everybody would do it"? Well that's what being a Jedi came down to...any easy to use profession. I'm NOT saying the path to Jedi isn't long, I'm just saying it isn't that hard. Many Jedi like to justify their strength with the virtual "hell" they go through to achieve a Jedi character. Well given the fact that many Jedi over in the Jedi forums like to act as if they will quit the game becuase of these changes, and if they do quit, this will KILL the game....that tells me that the number of Jedi currently playing the game has grown too large to maintain the strength of an "alpha class".
I have Mastered the Scout profession if that tells you anything. I, and SOME others, are STILL here. Through all the percieved hate of non-Jedi and favortism OF Jedi, over ALL other professions, we have NEVER dropped the MBH title. Did we know something you did not? No. We held onto hope (at least I did) that for every Jedi that exploited their way to "Knight" status, passed my effort to keep them Padawans, they would only server as a means to "fix" the Jedi profession.
It's not as bad as you think...
If you actually had read half the post, you'd have seen the last sentence in the first paragraph regarding making Jedi 1:1.
Oh and for the record...I had my MBH title before there were Jedi to hunt, much less a Jedi bounty system to hunt them with.
You responded...but you really didn't say anything....at least not about what I wrote in response to your thread. In fact, it looks like you agreed withme agreeing with you?
