I'd have to go with #1. You got your mark, easily.
On the flip side though, I can't believe this is a mechanic. I've been MBH, but never took a mission on a PC. Do we show up as a red dot or yellow dot and then red after first attack. I liken this to being able to loot a corpse you didn't attack. It would be nice if you could not DB if you did no damage. Realistically though, if you are searching for an enemy you want to kill and find him unconcious, you don't wait for him to get up... unless you are sadistic fiend.
For a jedi, there is no indication that you are hunting him. All they can do is keep their guard up. the moment they let it down, attack.
In every sense of the term "bounty hunting", and in every ideology throughout history of bounty hunting, this is the way it's done, and this is the way it should stay.
Griefing shmiefing. It's the nature of the game and something every jedi should take into serious consideration long before they kneel at the shrine.

errr...soapbox off
I thought that if you had a jedi's mission, you'd appear on his radar as a different color than normal PCs. Correct me if I am wrong though.

you ar wrong. a bh is just another blue/purple dot till they attack, then they are just another red dot
Purple = your faction if you are Rebel or IMP. Purple can also mean your group leader, but more of a hot pink.
Blue = opposite faction from you or neutral. If you are neutral, everyone is blue.
Green = in your group, regardless of faction.

A Bh by nature is 1.5xs weaker than a jedi. I know
So why would a BH go toe to toe? Only the most inept and stupid BH will do this.
Bounty Hunters should liken themselves to Lions in the grasslands. Stalking, waiting, ready to pounce their prey at the most opportune time. Sometimes it works, sometimes you clone.
Well put. You are my new jedi hero.
To the OP, great kill!
