Totally ridiculous. The Devs really messed up on this one. Since these things are insanely easy to kill and the drop rates are high, EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF LOOT that non-bounty hunters loot from other NPCs will be severely devalued.
Make these things harder. Make them kill me half the time. They should be Level 85 and hitting me for as hard as a MLS Jedi who has me armor break'd. The fight should last longer than 2 minutes. The good loot that they drop should be a reward for a good fight ... not something I got from tracking down a mark, turning on a macro and coming back 5 minutes later to collect the loot.

I'm not advocating making it harder just for the sake of making it challenging. These missions need to be harder because risk vs. reward is severely out of sync. They are out of sync to the point that these BH mission loot drops are going to devalue the loot that NON-BHs have legitimately earned through their own adventuring. It just cheapens the adventuring experience for NON-BHs and quite frankly isn't fair to the rest of the game population.
I like the loot. I like the drop rates, but with great reward should come great risk. If I can loot an uber +15 SEA with zero risk of dying, then something is really really wrong. It should be a long fight, and I should have a REAL risk of dying. Right now, there is no risk ... only reward.

Don't forget terrain and line of sight - you can root them and pop behind a house/over the hill to get out of range or LOS and heal up. I was having a hell of a time against the NPCs when I came back to the game a week or so ago (pre-CU tactics just don't work anymore), then I changed around to use the states and terrain more, plus picking my angle of attack yada yada and it's better now.
WRT the posters saying "oh they are so easy, I just switch on my macro and come back later..." - How about you try fighting (shock, horror) *without* using macros. You know, hand-eye coordination, split second reaction and judgement etc etc. Occasionally failing in a comical fashion because you missed the "heal" icon and hit the "/golfclap" icon instead.
Assuming the 30k+ HAM npc's are the "bosses" then here's my last recount
I was wearing 5700 battle armor at the time. The npc had approx. 35k HAM, had INSANE regen, and was highly resistant to states. My template is MBH/MCarbineer/Pistols 0003/medic 0020. I was healing myself for 660, had ruby, and 1100 stims.
I incapped twice and narrowly beat him the third time. The npc started hitting me for 320 damage each shot. After duelist stance it dropped to 280. It was VERY resistant to states but when applied dropped each shot to about 265. The hp regen is what really made the fight tough. I had to keep a bleed on him at all times. My carbine was 905 with a 73SAC. I had to wear battle because if he closed range he would go to melee and rotate weapons out at different ranges.
He dropped a CA +13 2handed speed/ 8 engine experimentation/ 10 fire resist tape, 1 clear jedi crystal, and 1 delicate trigger assebly. Subsequent "boss" npc's dropped similar tapes, enhanced power cells which were better than krayt tissue by far (included a version for kinetic/gorax weapons) and scopes with +60 accuracy. And of course our favorite, BH armor.
I'd say this was a fun and rewarding time. The fight was tough and worth it although I've heard of some people getting only jars of bugs. ![]()
Additionally, there was an unconfirmed report of a BH npc that was level 88. Also, you can group with others and can be healed by a partner. No need to go solo. Unsure if this is intended or a current bug.
I've goten better results for the amount of time in the maurder cave. which is slow as hell.
Iagree with brainplay I had a couple of real b**tards last night. Similar story, I'm MBH MCM Carbs x4xx, pulled a double chevron boss, I hit him with every state I had and he just kept shrugging them off, my dots were lasting about 10 seconds on him, i had every state going on him but his regen was insane. i incapped twice which I've never done against an NPC, not even with 5 on 1 in the nightsister stronghold. he was able to knock me down multiple times within 30 secs.
Inarrowly beat him the 3rd time with my medicdroid out, food and buffs off the edge of the page and a duelist stance and knockdown recovery macro going.I had to heal for every 3 of his shots. i thoght with waht this guy drops I'll be able to retire but all i got was an illegal core booster... gutted
On a good note from my other missions apart from smuggler drops i got a nice scatter pistol and BH helmet, boots and gloves.
mots of the lvl 80-82 marks dropped decent stuff but were an ok fight but sometimes you get one that really gives you a run for your money
