I've always liked the idea of "Legendary" elite professions. Back before the CU I had always thought being a Teras Kasi Elder would be sweet (basically afaster, more powerful, TKM). I'm definately in favor of an idea like that. I don't think it would fix "the Jedi problem", players who don't have time to grind Jedi, or a "legendary" elite profession, will always be mad that other players are "more powerful". Put in the time and effort and you should be better.

I don't tink it is a dumb idea but i have a hard time picturing any profession as powerful as a jedi. i know in a game setting it is impossible to have all powerful profession but still jedi should be stronger.

I totally aree with you that other classes should have an end game tho. I mean give the other classes a reason to press on into their profession. I can honestly say that, even though I thought it would be cool to have one, I never pursued jedi until I got bored of the professions I had already master (albiet it was rather early in the game back in the beginning of hologrind era). I believe that is the case today.

Assuming the Jedi is a defender and the player is not a retarded chimp, I'm sure there's less than a 10-20% chance...

But, there ARE a lot of retarded chimps playing out there, so be on the lookout for that easy mark!

I see this too,

However you take away and people see what is gone...

you give and people see what they have gained....

This is the problem of nerfing, it is a balace that resembles a punishment.

To add to other professions to balance jedi does not punish any body -even make it so that jedi hunting results in no loss of xp.

But giving playes options of expansion of then jedi would resemble a reward...

raise your hand if you like being punished (lol did not mean it like that sicko)

raise your hand if you like being rewarded

Jedi should be more powerful?

True, however every FS feels the force. Like stated up a thread, being a jedi is a method of understanding and using the power of the force, so is sith.

A FS legendary (like that idea) ranger, has the force he just "tunes into it" in a different way.

For example...A legendary creature handler may be able to use his force sesitivity to gain a better kinship with beasts. Sort of like the idea that the force heightens his/her senses of what he/she is destined to do... thus they may be able use the force to train rancors or krayts (granted they could not be lvl 95 killer krayts for combat reasons).

A jedi feels a calling with the force to perform X function.

Perhaps the Creature handlers calling is to perform Y function.

It is all the will of the force, the force is what makes the jedi not the other way around.

The power is not in the jedi... it is in the force, and other perfessions can feel the force.. why not let them use it for what the love?

I feel what your saying but the most common application of the force that we see is for combat. So it would seem that jedi are trained for focusing the force for those types of situation therefore giving them an advantage. I don't have a problem with professions getting better but when you bring in force applications it get kinda sticky for me.

I would rather have a guy get prestige points based on professions that could equate to some kind of advance after awhile. So like for a ranger, he get points after he harvest so much meat or based on a certain amount of pets trained a Ch gets an advance... Crafter based on certain amount of crafts get a bonus that way the old crafter is better than the newbie crafter and so on.

Or another way to do it would be based on longevity. SO the longer a player keeps profession the more points he would get at certain stages. So like after of month (real time) at a profession he gets a certain bonus. These are all examples and the times and amounts havent been thought out but you get my drift...

Jedi do have to do alot more than normal players, so to balance this out...

Each Master Profession has a village type place. Once you become FS, you have a choice.

"which path would you like to follow?"1. Jedi 2. BH 3. Ranger 4... etc. (you may only choice 1 and must be a master in that profession... except the master part for jedi ofcourse)

Each profession has different village paths you only need avilliger for each begining novice (ie brawler marksman etc.) hybred profession can choice from their hybred (ie and BH can choose marksman or scout).

Now you can grind out your profession the same as you would a jedi. but now you surrender your regular skills for new ones . I.E. advanced BH lines, ranger lines etc.

When done with these new quests every top profession would be a 1.5x

To even out BH and Jedi when a BH duels a jedi and loses they lose all there exp just like jedi does, and a jedi can attack a BH at anytime that has his mission (when BH gets amission you get jedi's name and the jedi gets "you sense a disturbance in thef force: BHso and sois after you). The advantage for BH is the ability to track with droids. but first strike is first come.

This makes it so players who do not want jedi canhave a powerfull alturnative, and the ability to do the long grinding for it.

I make this in the response of jedi saying I grinded somuch longer, and it is harder to be a jedi.

I do not want to be a jedi... but as it stands it is the best.

To even this out, let other profession do the same amount of grinding to improve their character.

Everyone happy... there is nolonger a "best" and there is no more of this I should be uber because I did so much more.

The reason you're getting a negative responce is that you are writing under the false assumption that Jedi are extremely powerfull.

We're not.

Almost everyone in this forum would love to see alternateLegendary Profession types (Heroic or Legendarypistoleer/smuggler Han Solo types come to mind), IF the reward equalled the amount of effort put out.

What you need to understand is that most Jedi are diheartened and Jaded by the fact that they didn't listen when they were told over and over that even at the highest end, Jedi aren't nearly as powerfull as they thought. Now they are fully templated Jedi and are upset and angry to find that they are only marginally more powerfull than other professions, and even that ONLY if the have the elite level equipment, IE premium pearls, the best sabers possible, rare Jedi Skill tapes. IF one doesn't have all this loot, they will still be a mediocre Character even at full template, unless the player themse;ves are especially talented, in which case they can be uber no matter what profession they are.

It's not about the template or the powers, it's all about the loot and how good a player you are.

Judging from your typing skills, his little brother would out think you.

A simple post like the OP's doesn't deserve to be flamed. Especially by the likes of yourself.

I dont care about being force sensitive, I like my template and I like not being a jedi (getting to the point where NOT being a jedi or bh is actually unique) but anyway

I could totally go for profession specific quests, not profession mission terminals or random quests that anyone can do that drop diff prof weps, but more along the lines of chain quests with actual content that let you really get into your own profession.

Jedi Free Servers is the answer

dont be threatoned by this!

Its ok - if you want to play on a jedi wars server - then do so!!!! Thats great for you!

The rest of us will play on a server with NO Jedi at all!

SOE makes profit....Jedi are happy and left alone. There are no excuses.... none. You dont like Jedi Wars servers? Go to a classic style NO-Jedi server then. You want to be a jedi or hunt them? GO to a Jedi WArs server as they are today!

DONE
