If you can get in at least one shot, you should get the pistol xp. But you are correct, if you health shot and then feign death and do nothing else, you get zero xp.

Since dirty fighting is a pistol line, do I have to be wielding a pistol to use the feign death skill? I don't want to earn a ridiculous amount of pistol exp just to find out I can't feign death while holding a rifle.

Anyone?

OK, thank you very much kind sir. My wookiee rifleman will be climbing the slicing and spices trees cause I've got all kinds of skill points left over :-) Just making sure I can use it before I waste my time getting pistol exp.

No, it will not kill you, you will simply feign death as you normally do.

lucky I have yet to have this happen to me, but there are times where I fd, wait for my next hit, get incaped, but when the timer goes away, i go to fd without moving. granted I dont do this buffed(soi dont heal to fast while fd and takes a couple min for health to rise)and with the time it takes for the bleed to go away on the animals im sure i wont get incapped or have this situation happen 3 times in 10 min, but would that still count as an incap(waiting for next hit and really getting incapped). Also I dont use this much on deathblow guys(im slow atadapting to using fd when i dont preplan on using itand the only dbers I fight are tusks), but If i am waiting to get hit, get incapped and have timer, can something deathblow me, ie ncp/db animal/pvp(this is also assuming that after the timer hits 0 i remain incapped in fd)?

Feign death works like this. When you initiate it, you must take a hit first (i trust everyone know this) and then you pretend to die. If you go into negative stats while this happens, you become FD, and you will heal faster than when you are incapped. As long as you FD and it doesn't say "you don't have enough pool points" then you are fine, and can do that as many times as you want. Do not try to stand up tho if you still have the timer, you will become incapped, and the timer will increase because of the modifiers. Also, any aggressive creature that would normally DB you will walk up and DB you instead of walking away. I learned all this the hard way

I was wondering about the incap timer as well, but it sounds like the timer doesn't matter whether its there or not, as long as i used FD prior to gettingincapped in any case, no matter my current pool points.

how many points does it cost to FD?

when using feign death in PvE i have to be hit by the target before feign death kicks in, ill then lye there until i feel ready to get up, whats happens if i try feign death against something like a krayt or dark jedi master, both of which are capable of killing most people in one hit, if i try to use feign death against one and i am one hit incapped can i be death blowed or will feign death kick in to stop them?

Get better armor? I do see thats there a certain logic in that you need to be hit. Just falling over "dead" wouldn't really be very convincing, would it?

i just want to know if im going up against one of these things, should i just burst run away or will feign death be able to save me?

Feign Death will save you but you'll be aggro'd again once you stand up.
